I’ve been working on a collection of furniture over the past months at my studio on Anguilla.
My pieces are sculpture based and the medium of expression is drift wood and cement. Pictured below are a couple of the pieces as they near completion.
I don’t know when or if I’ll ever create a collection like this one again and I trust the client and their guest will enjoy it for many years to come.
Drift X Cement

Art is important, regardless to how many folks try to trivialize its place amongst us.
It is important.
It’s more than a print on a tee shirt or a character on our screens, something for us to mock or attempt to continually deny the work of those who dare to create and embrace the challenge and vulnerability that comes with sharing those creations.
Art is empowering, it’s a conversation between the artist, their inspiration and medium or mode of presentation which is open to interpretation by those who observe in an attempt to comprehend what the artist intended to convey or just observe.
“Frolic” by Jelani Sasso
Is a mixed media piece painted on canvas depicting a humpback whale breaching in an abstact ocean. A scene I’ve been fortunate to witness many times over the years just off the islands south east coast.
The piece was presented to the the Hon. Minister of MICUHT Mr. Haydn Hughes and #Anguilla Air and Seaport Authority CEO (Ag.) Mr. Kendell Richardson last week for installation in the newly opened ferry terminal located in Blowing Point.
It was a beautiful morning and I enjoyed speaking about the inspiration for my art, the importance of collecting and nurturing the local artist and creative community.
Hope you are all having a great day/week. 🤎
One must endeavor to travel with purpose and thankfully navigate each day of our existence.
Today It was an honor to present “Teach Them How To Fish” to the Premier of #Anguilla the Hon. Dr. Ellis Lorenzo Webster.
The Hon. Dr. Webster is from Island Harbour which is one of the villages on the island that is known for fishing.
During our short meeting we candidly spoke about the piece, other pieces in the series and some of my interest beyond art. I look forward to catching up with him in the future.
I hope you are all having a great day/week. 🤎
