Today I announced that Maryland is stepping up for Maryland residents recently disenrolled by Howard University.

We will be expediting admissions support to University System of Maryland institutions and offering an $800 credit for impacted students.

These students worked hard, earned their spot in college, and were ready to begin the next chapter – we want them to do so in Maryland.

The ADA was not an endpoint – but just the beginning of an initiative to leave no one behind.

Over the last two years, we've invested $25 million in Anne Arundel County to strengthen public safety — including funding for the Real-Time Information Center, giving law enforcement better tools to prevent and solve crime in real time as effectively as possible.

This all-of-the-above approach also includes supports in violence reduction, victim services, treatment and recovery, and youth intervention.

When community members lead, solutions stick.

Thanks to funding from the ENOUGH Initiative, students are spending their summer at Fox Automotive in Glen Burnie, learning and building valuable real-world skill sets that will let them connect to jobs and certifications that employers look for.

The ENOUGH Initiative puts real power and funding directly into the hands of the people who know their neighborhoods best.
