I am horrified by the tragic shooting that occurred at the Islamic Center of San Diego.

The rise of hate-fueled attacks against religious communities is deeply disturbing and completely unacceptable. Islamophobia should have no place in our country or the world, and every American ought to be concerned.

I commend the courage of Amin Abdullah, the law enforcement, and first responders who took swift action to protect members of the community. My prayers are with the victims and their families, those who attend and worship at the center, and the entire Muslim community at this time.
