🚨🚨Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks & @SenPeterWelch, joined by @SenAdamSchiff, @SenatorBennet, @RepMcGovern & @RepJasonCrow sent a bicameral letter to Elon Musk demanding answers on why access to the Starshield communications system was suddenly shut off for Ukrainian forces:

[House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems @HouseForeign]

We cannot bomb our way out of the mess Trump has made in Iran.

More unauthorized U.S. strikes would be reckless, costly, and a betrayal to the American people who are being forced to pay for a war they do not support.

Rubio should have never halted these vital fellowships.

RM @RepGregoryMeeks and HFAC colleagues fought to protect them. Now the State Department must restore them as Congress mandated—without political favoritism or ideological loyalty tests.

Congress will be watching.

[Department of State @StateDept]

Calling America’s best and brightest.

The Pickering, Rangel, and Payne fellowships are back, and we want to fill them with our Nation’s top talent.

Reminder for Mike Waltz: the United States government determined genocide occurred in Burma.

[Ambassador Mike Waltz @USAmbUN]

ICJ ad hoc "judge" Navi Pillay is tipping the scales on the ICJ’s current proceedings on Myanmar, intending to lower the legal threshold for proving genocide so that weakened and false standard can later be weaponized against American and allied soldiers whenever they raise a finger against terrorists that hide behind civilians. Pillay: We see your agenda and we'll be watching the ICJ’s handling of these proceedings very closely. As our actions against the ICC demonstrate, we will not allow globalist, faux-judges to weaponize the law against our troops, undermine our sovereignty, or put American lives at risk.

The Nobel Committee has disgraced itself by awarding the Peace Prize to Pillay. What a shameful choice to "honor" someone who represents an "international community" with a leftist, globalist, antisemitic agenda.

President Trump is showing a better way, by actually ENDING WARS, bringing hostages HOME, and making PEACE.

[House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems @HouseForeign]

RM @RepGregoryMeeks: Rubio is firing or sidelining career diplomats in favor of loyalists. Not meritocracy, but MAGA nepotism. Personnel decisions based on political litmus tests are blatantly illegal and do real harm to national security. Congress and State OIG must investigate—I’m working to ensure that.

[Eric Katz @EricM_Katz]

SCOOP: The State Dept has started asking career diplomats up for promotion if they voted for Trump in 16, 20, 24.

Federal law prohibits politically based hiring for career staff.

State tells @washingtonsun it's screening for "fidelity" and execution of the president's vision👇

[House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems @HouseForeign]

Groveling before a war criminal is unconscionable.

Putin has masterminded the slaughter of thousands of Ukrainian civilians.

He is not a humanitarian—no amount of shameless flattery will change that.

[Lucas Tomlinson @LucasFoxNews]

Witkoff to Putin: “You talk so much about my president, President Trump, being a humanitarian — you are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that.”

[House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems @HouseForeign]

RM @RepGregoryMeeks: President Milei’s endorsement is an inappropriate intrusion into our democracy. American elections are decided by American voters, not foreign heads of state. The U.S. and Argentina share a longstanding relationship built on mutual respect and shared democratic values. President Milei should respect those principles, and Congress must continue to make clear that any foreign electoral interference is unacceptable.

[Politics & Poll Tracker 📡 @PollTracker2024]

Florida Politics: Republican U.S. Rep. María Elvira Salazar now has the support of Argentine President Javier Milei in her re-election bid in Florida’s 27th Congressional District.

In a video Salazar shared on social media, Milei described Salazar in Spanish as “one of the strongest and most respected voices in the Americas.”

[House Armed Services Democrats @HASCDemocrats]

“The United States Congress stands strongly and unequivocally with Ukraine. Russia's continued campaign of war crimes and its slaughtering of innocent civilians, aided by the Trump Administration’s pro-Putin agenda, demands urgent and forceful action from Congress to reaffirm that support."

- @HASCDemocrats Ranking Member @RepAdamSmith , @HouseForeign Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks and HPSCI Ranking Member @jahimes release the following statement after bipartisan meeting with President @ZelenskyyUa

[House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems @HouseForeign]

Ranking Members @RepGregoryMeeks, @RepAdamSmith and @jahimes issued a joint statement following today's call between President Zelenskyy and a bipartisan group of Members of Congress:

[House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems @HouseForeign]

Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks today spoke with Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella to reaffirm the importance of preserving bipartisan support for the U.S.-Colombia relationship. They discussed support for the Colombian people as they continue to recover and rebuild in the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes. They also discussed opportunities to deepen their cooperation to advance the rights, inclusion, and opportunities for Afro-Colombian and Indigenous communities.

[House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems @HouseForeign]

Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks issued the following statement regarding settler violence in the West Bank:

[Alex Raufoglu @ralexdc]

NEW!! Rep. Meeks urges Congress to counter Trump’s Russia sanctions waiver, pointing to bipartisan legislation supporting Ukraine, blocking Russian oil deals and fixing the Graham sanctions bill.

“Congress is not helpless,” he says, calling for action to stand with Ukraine against Putin.

[House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems @HouseForeign]

"Donald Trump has spent years chasing the Nobel Peace Prize. After weeks of pro-Putin policy and this shameful waiver, he deserves a different honor: the Neville Chamberlain Appeasement Award."

Statement from Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks on Trump waiving sanctions on Russia:

[Craig Caplan @CraigCaplan]

House Foreign Affairs Top Democrat Gregory Meeks, who voted No against the Lindsey Graham Russia & Iran sanctions bill, said in House floor debate that the bill’s “historically broad waiver language makes imposing sanctions essentially optional. Do we really believe that President Trump, on his record, is going to suddenly get serious about punishing Russia?”

[Ami Bera, M.D. @RepBera]

Trump’s diesel deal gives Vladimir Putin millions of dollars to finance his war against the Ukrainian people while doing next to nothing to lower prices at the pump.

This dangerous and irresponsible decision must be reversed.

That’s why I joined 17 of my colleagues in introducing bipartisan legislation to block it.

[Congressman Bill Keating @USRepKeating]

I've co-led bipartisan legislation to end Trump's diesel deal w/ Putin. It includes my bill, the NOPE Act, which strengthens oversight of Russia sanctions to ensure Trump can't lift them w/out Congress having a say.

I urge Republicans to take it up when we return to Washington.

[Department of State @StateDept]

America First. Always.

[Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz @RepDWStweets]

I joined @RepGregoryMeeks and @HouseForeign Democrats on a bill to block Trump's corrupt oil deal with Russia.

We must reverse this senseless betrayal of our Ukrainian allies.

[Ami Bera, M.D. @RepBera]

Trump’s war with Iran is driving up gas and diesel prices, fueling inflation, and raising costs for families across the Sacramento region.

The impact goes far beyond the gas pump. Higher fuel prices make it more expensive to produce and transport goods, increase operating costs for businesses, and ultimately drive up prices on everyday essentials.

We must end this reckless war and bring down costs for the American people.
