(Canada child benefits) we believe that the government should have you more effort in putting the people first. in conclusion the governments social welfare programs were not helpful for all people in Canada.
In many ways the welfare programs did help people but for many people I the LGBTQ community where set back in the legalization of their rights, and people who couldn't afford to support their own children because they couldn't qualify for the CCB
This was very helpful for families because there was a really low job rate and when the government came out with this many people where very happy that the government was starting to help
this was elnlegable for family with children under 18 years old This amount is combined with the CCB into a single monthly payment. You may be entitled to a benefit of $68.33 per month for each child.
many people believed that the government at the time didn't care, until they brought out the Canada Child benefit, the new Canada Child Benefit gives more money to families who need it most to help with the cost of raising children.
in result to this "Canada must modernize its social security system to meet the heavy demands of a changing economy, society and political system" people would say about the government
starting with same sex marriage and gay rights, it took Canada 55 years to legalize same sec marriage only in Ontario, many of the now LGBTQ community where discriminated and weren't treated with equal respect or equal rights.
The Government has also made longer-term investments in areas such as housing, clean water, health, transportation, early learning and child care, and skills and employment, which will help address multiple dimensions of poverty.
The poverty rate in Canada during this time was very high.
To fix the harm Canada's first-ever Poverty Reduction Strategy is built on the vision that whoever they are, and wherever they originally came from, all Canadians should be able to live in dignity.
This was a tough time for all and the government at the time didn't see this, they thought they where helping people but didn't realize that it was actually hurting people
Canadian needed to deal with an array of need including but not limited to poverty, homelessness, unemployment, immigration, aging, illness, workplace injury, disability, and the needs of children, women, gay, lesbian, and transgender people
