MINISTRY OF ROADS AND BRIDGES EDO STATE...
Progress update on the Construction of Omomo street and Osibor street off stadium road, Benin city, Edo state
@renoomokri This government has failed us, how does this affect the prices of Nigeria made goods in our various markets? Things are becoming more expensive even with this because this present administration are not effective at all.
On behalf of the government and the good people of Edo State, I extend heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Asagba of Asaba, Chief (Prof) Joseph Chike Edozien, CFR, JP, as well as to the people of Delta State.
As someone who is close to the Edozien family, I am deeply touched by the passing of the late Asagba and I will cherish memories of his larger-than-life personality.
While mourning his departure, we must also celebrate his life and his many contributions to society, and the development of Asaba. We thank God for the privilege of giving us such a highly intellectual and iconic leader.
I commiserate with all Deltans; associates, well-wishers and the family of the late Edozien, assuring them of our support during this time of grief.
I thank the new Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST), Major General Nansak Shagaya, and other senior officers of the school for their courtesy visit.
We are pleased with the support we receive from the military, especially for the collaboration and assistance the corps provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a government, our core role is to provide security to citizens and residents of Edo State, and we have succeeded thus far due to the level of cooperation and assistance we have received from security agencies, particularly the federal security agencies like the military.
Under my watch, we have been able to enhance the relationship between the Edo State Government and the military, resulting in the establishment of two operating bases, one in Ehor and the other in Sobe, which have significantly improved security across the State.
We have intensified efforts to diversify the state's economy by tapping into our solid minerals deposits, particularly lithium, as a new source of Foreign Exchange (FX) earnings.
We welcome representatives from international investors such as Renera Rosatom Energy Corporation and Uranium One, along with others who have expressed their willingness to partner with us. They can rest assured that we will provide them with the necessary resources to ensure they receive value for their investment and that the mining sector contributes significantly to boosting the state’s internally generated revenue.
We have our eyes set on saving Nigeria as much as $40 billion spent on medical tourism and education.
The ongoing reconstruction of the state-owned Stella Obasanjo Hospital and the Edo State School of Health Technology are pivotal components of the healthcare reforms we are undertaking to upgrade our facilities to world-class standards.
We are working to create healthcare systems and educational institutions that can rank and compete with the top institutions and healthcare systems in the world. This is to ensure that Nigerians remain in the country rather than traveling abroad to obtain these services.
I heartily congratulate our darling Super Eagles for their victory over the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
The Super Eagles were a better team, displaying formidable skills, resilience, strength and determination throughout the match, securing a ticket to the finals of the competition after their 4-2 score line on penalties.
The team is just inches away from their fourth continental trophy and we are confident that they will bring the laurel home.
We are collaborating with security agencies to safeguard lives and property in the state. Our emergency lines 112 and 739 are open 24 hours a day to receive reports and respond to any incidents of crime or breach of security.
Thanks to Dufil Prima Food Limited and others who have collaborated with us by making substantial investments in our cassava and oil-palm value chain. Aggressively bolstering local food production and sufficiency is the only way we can effectively address food supply and the challenges posed by the spiking exchange rates in our country.

One of Edo's fast-rising musical acts, making waves globally today, is Shallipopi; birth name Crown Uzama. We are proud to have hosted his homecoming concert, arguably the biggest music concert in Benin City in recent times, at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub.
Some of the best artists today in Nigeria and Africa are from Edo, as we are renowned for our innate artistry and rich cultural heritage. We want to let our youth know that Edo is back and that they do not have to leave Edo to get the best in the world.
OBASEKI MOURNS PASSING OF ONDO GOVERNOR, AKEREDOLU
It is with great grief that I received the news of the passing of my brother governor and dear friend, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State, who served his people meritoriously and diligently, building a legacy of sacrifice, sustainable development and prosperity.
Brave and independent-minded, Akeredolu was a great man in all ramifications. From an illustrious career as a lawyer, rising to become a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and then serving as Governor of Ondo State, his intellect, hard work and diligence stood him out and was reflected in his attainments and the fervour with which he served the good people of Ondo State.
His legacy in the legal profession is indelible as he was renowned in his field of expertise while building a reputation of being thorough, incisive and comprehensive. It won him a lot of admirers who came to recognise his genius.
As Governor of Ondo State, Akeredolu worked for the people of Ondo State and was committed to the State’s advancement not minding its toll on him. He was a governor who cared deeply and undertook projects that would cement his name in the sands of time. He made remarkable progress in developing different sectors of the State’s economy and improved on key indices of government.
When it mattered the most, he was always a voice of reason to provide insight, direction and guidance on issues of national importance, a reflection of his love for our dear country and deep introspection. He, indeed, gave himself for the service of the motherland.
He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s development, for contributing to the emergence of modern Ondo State and for his unblemished faith in Nigeria’s unity and diversity.
I commiserate with the Government and good people of Ondo State and the Akeredolu family, and pray that God will grant all the fortitude to bear this painful and irreparable loss.
His Excellency,
Godwin Obaseki,

As a government, a major area of focus is what can harness the immense potential of our youth, who account for about 70 percent of our population. With the success of the Edo State International Film Festival (ESIFF) 2.0, all indicators suggest that making our state Nigeria’s entertainment and creative hub could be achievable in less than a decade.
Our forebears succeeded in making the homeland the cultural capital of the world; the least we can do is match their prowess!
My dear sister, Senator Daisy Danjuma, you will remain a gem and a blessing to our dear State. Commissioning the Merry Ehanire Mother and Child Hospital, which you named after your late mother, is like a dream come true.
Thank you for embracing our health sector revolution and setting a new benchmark for hospitals in the State. The facility signifies more than a hospital and intervention in healthcare; it represents us establishing new standards for ourselves, with the potential of making a significant reduction in the over $2 billion spent by Nigerians on medical tourism annually.
Hearty congratulations to our own dear Bendel Insurance @BendelInsurance goalkeeper, Amas Obasogie @AmasObasogie1, on your call-up to the national team, the Super Eagles ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qualifier games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
With great agility, resilience, and excellent command in the air, you are unarguably one of the best shot-stoppers in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with an outstanding record of six clean sheets in seven matches this season and an impressive run which saw Bendel Insurance sustain a 26-game unbeaten streak last season.
You have continued to give an excellent account of yourself, showcasing your prowess, exceptional talent, and the indomitable Edo spirit; putting the State on the global map for good.
Amas, you call up is indeed another win for our sustained investment in the sports sector in Edo, with a keen focus on returning Bendel Insurance to its rightful place as a home for national team players. You are the second Bendel Insurance player to be called up to the national team in a space of one year.
We are proud of your accomplishments and genius and wish you success in this new and exciting chapter of your football career, even as we are confident that you will continue to shine and bring more laurels and glory to the State and Nigeria.
