John Paul II: The Koran Is Holy & Islam Is God’s Way (May 1985)

On May 9, 1985, John Paul II gave another speech to Muslims during a symposium in Rome.  It’s packed with blasphemy and heresy.

John Paul II, To the Participants in the Symposium on “Holiness in Christianity and in Islam” (Rome), May 9, 1985:

“As I have often said in other meetings with Muslims, YOUR GOD AND OURS IS ONE AND THE SAME, AND WE ARE BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM.  Thus it is natural that we have much to discuss concerning TRUE HOLINESS in obedience and worship to God.
All true holiness comes from God, who is called ��The Holy One’ in THE SACRED BOOKS of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims. YOUR HOLY KORAN calls God ‘Al-Quddus,’ as in the verse: ‘He is God, besides whom there is no other…’ (Koran 59, 23)…
In today’s world, it is more important than ever that men and women of faith, assisted by God’s grace, should strive for TRUE HOLINESS… The countless numbers of good people around the world – Christians, Muslims, and others – who quietly lead lives of AUTHENTIC OBEDIENCE, praise, and thanksgiving to God and selfless service of their neighbor, OFFER HUMANITY A GENUINE ALTERNATIVE, ‘GOD’S WAY’, to a world which otherwise would be destroyed in self-seeking, hatred, and struggle.  May the God of holiness bless your efforts throughout these days!”

First, he blasphemes the true God by emphatically declaring that the false god of the Muslims is “one and the same” as the Most Holy Trinity.  He then says that Muslims “are brothers and sisters in the faith of Abraham”.  That’s heresy.  Muslims are infidels who don’t have any faith, and only those who are baptized and accept Christ belong to the faith of Abraham (Galatians 3:26-29).

John Paul II then discusses holiness.  The entire section implies that Muslims can be (and are) holy in their religion.  That’s heresy.  John Paul II explicitly calls the blasphemous Koran “holy”.  That’s a denial of the Christian faith.  He then states that there are countless Muslims who are good people and that they (and other non-Christians) “lead lives of authentic obedience” to God.  He explicitly teaches that Muslims follow “God’s way”!  Those statements clearly endorse the false religion of Islam as a way to be holy and reach God.  They are notoriously heretical and express religious indifferentism.  They also deny the dogma Outside The Church There Is No Salvation.  John Paul II was an apostate antipope.

Billot: Those Outside The Church Are Incapable Of Ordinary Jurisdiction

Cardinal Louis Billot was a French Jesuit and a prominent theologian who died in 1931.  Of course he was not infallible, but what he writes here is perfectly consistent with definitive Catholic teaching.  It’s also highly relevant to the current situation.

Cardinal Louis Billot, Tractatus De Ecclesia Christi, 1909, Vol. 1, Q. 7 - De Ecclesiae Membris, Thesis XI, #2, p. 300: “For whoever exists outside the Body of the Church, by that fact itself is made incapable of all ordinary jurisdiction, for instance episcopal.  The reason is that he who has ordinary or truly episcopal jurisdiction obtains the dignity of a head, and no one can be the head even of a particular church if he is not a member of the Church.”

Why Our Lady Appeared On Aug. 19th, Not Aug. 13th

On August 13, 1917, Artur de Oliveira Santos (the anti-Catholic administrator of the district) seized the Fatima children (Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta) under false pretenses.  He said that he wanted to escort them to the Cova da Iria for the apparition of Our Lady. But he actually kidnapped them and took them to Ourém, where they were held.  They were first detained in his house and then in a jail cell.  He repeatedly asked them about the “secret” they said Our Lady had mentioned, and he threatened to boil them in oil if they did not reveal it to him.  The children refused to reveal the secret. Since the children had been kidnapped and did not make it to the apparition site, Our Lady did not appear to them on that day. They were released on approximately August 15 (the Feast of the Assumption).

Our Lady then unexpectedly appeared to the children on August 19.  During the apparition she told them:

“If you had not been taken away [by the Administrator on Aug. 13] to the City, the miracle [of Oct. 13th] would have been greater”.

She also said:

“Pray, pray a great deal, and make sacrifices for sinners, for many souls go to Hell because they have no one to pray and make sacrifices for them.” (William Thomas Walsh, Our Lady of Fatima, p. 120)

You recently posted a video that attempted to defend Vatican II’s teaching on ecclesiology and ecumenism from charges of heresy or deviation from traditional Catholic dogma.
