Writer of were-squids, space moths and the odd Doctor Who short story. Pompeii enthusiast. Big fan of hypocausts. @WI4CLeics team with @dchurchwriter. She/Her
My story was mentioned in The Doctor Who Companion's review of Sarah Jane Smith: Roving Reporter II! This anthology was a labour of love by all, so happy to see it continuing to reach whovian readers.

In ancient Roman times the day before the Solstice celebrated the ‘dies natalis’ (birthday) of Summanus the god of nocturnal thunder. Round cakes called summanalia, made of flour, milk, and honey, shaped as wheels were offered to Summanus as a token sacrifice.

Did you know that you can put a formula in an Excel textbox? I replicated my favourite meme in my word tracker. It updates with whatever I wrote on the most recent day!
My laptop completely died and I hadn't backed up anything in a year (apart from my novel, thankfully). The PC repair place got my data back (not the laptop alas) but for a few days I could have lost a year of short story work. Back up your stuff, folks!
Film is Fabulous! have published the full story of Peter’s day in Leicester, where the recovery of the two missing Doctor Who episodes was revealed to him:

Missing Doctor Who Recovered!
The Film is Fabulous! team are pleased to announce the recovery of two missing episodes of Doctor Who, from the serial entitled, ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’:
The Nightmare Begins (Broadcast: 13th Nov 1965)
Devil’s Planet (Broadcast: 27th Nov 1965)
In the editing trenches of this novel, and I made a list of the words I use too much. Feels a bit like the editing process itself, honestly:
gestured grandly
said weakly
grinned
smiled
nodded
steepled fingers
struggling
solemnly
shakily
dryly
murmured
muttered
sparkled
I'm playing Tomb Raider 1 for the first time (remastered) and no one told me about the horror elements! I made it past the mummies, and now I'm in a room made of meat(??). Next: Lara closes an Oblivion Gate? I love this game.
38. Domestic fiction: Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. I’m not a big reader of domestic fiction, but this one has a sentient octopus called Marcellus! I was glued to the audiobook. It’s a warm, quiet story with a lot to say, and a nice change from my usual choices.
I'll be doing the 52 Book Club challenge again this year! Will be posting (sporadically) on my progress. It's a nice way to expand your reading if you tend to stick to one genre. I may also end up doing this with Doctor Who books/audios, we'll see! https://t.co/7p1eF27MzI
32. Publisher starting with "B": Best Wishes from the Full Moon Coffee Shop by Mai Mochizuki. Starts with B, and so do its publishers, Brazen (UK) and Bungeishunju Ltd (Japanese). A cosy sequel about wishes and horoscopes. Learned what my moon and rising signs are, which is cool!
