Even if you can’t sympathize with other people’s pain, you can still help them in their grieving. If you have nothing to say, sit with them in silence. If you don’t have any answers, you do have tears. Do not look away. Listen. Pray. Fast. Weep.

Every person we trust will fail us eventually — except Jesus. Only he can bear the full weight of our hope, faith, and joy.
