What a difference a week can make! Last week I was a one-to-one TA. This week I'm on supply in a Year 6 class until Christmas and I've accepted a position in a year 3/4 from January. Don't give up NQTs! Any advice for what I should be doing now? @MrTs_NQTs#edutwitter
I've taken all the suggestions for Life Skills Of The Week and mapped out a few ideas for the whole school year. Then added some links where I could find them.
Here is the link to the document :-)

It's been a whole year since I made my box for the children to stand on. We used it when reading out work, or telling the class something. The children loved using it!

Having only started with my class in January I was worried about my relationship with them not being strong enough. After nearly 2 weeks of teaching in person I recieved the blue note at lunchtime and the black note at home time with my treat. Think I'm doing ok! #TinyVoiceTalks
Could I get some recommendations for books for my 3/4 class? Our next topic called "Urban Pioneers" so a mix of fiction and non-fiction books about cities would be great!
After a day of sorting out online learning my mum's partner came in and gave me their label maker because 'they thought it would be something I would enjoy'. They are absolutely correct. So, if you don't mind me, I am going to be labelling everything I own now. #edutwitter
I feel so overwhelmed today. I always knew it was going to be difficult to start in January with a new class as an NQT. But the way the government are flip flopping around gives the feeling of deja vu from March last year when my PGCE placement was cut short! #edutwitter
Growing up, my Muslim family never celebrated Christmas. This year I am not going home, because pandemic, so my roommates are teaching me how to have my first proper Christmas.
I am approaching this with anthropological precision.
Here are a few observations.
This is why I teach!! I've planned out a talent show performance, organised an exciting science day and all sorts of other winter craft activities, but this year 6 wrote me a beautiful letter to thank me for helping them understand fractions. I'm really going to miss this class!
