INCREDIBLE!
Washington Post journalist Hannah Natanson who had Trump’s FBI raid her home and take her phones and laptops, just won the Pulitzer Prize with the Washington Post.
Congrats!!
This is remarkable. People will still be writing about Ukrainian courage and resilience in 100 years. On paper, this is one of the biggest mismatches in modern military history. Russia expected to take the country in days. And yet, Ukraine stands.
Burkina Faso just offered to fight the United States on behalf of Iran.
Before you laugh, understand what you are actually looking at.
A country with 12,000 troops that cannot secure its own territory from jihadist insurgents is publicly volunteering to take on the most powerful military in human history. Captain Ibrahim Traoré commands an army smaller than the NYPD. He has no navy, no real air force, 500 airmen total.
But the statement was never about military capability. It was about geopolitical realignment. And it was pre-positioned.
Burkina Faso’s defense minister was in Tehran on February 23 meeting his Iranian counterpart. The US-Israeli strikes began February 28. Five days. That was not reactive. That was coordination.
Layer the context. In September 2024, Burkina Faso signed an MoU with Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation for nuclear cooperation. In the June 2025 IAEA vote condemning Iran, only three countries voted against: Russia, China, and Burkina Faso. Not Pakistan. Not India. A landlocked West African nation of 23 million stood alone with America’s two largest adversaries to defend Iran’s nuclear program. In exchange, Burkina Faso reportedly receives Iranian drones and a petroleum refinery commitment. Gold flows the other direction. A closed-loop barter system operating entirely outside the dollar.
Here is what makes this genuinely significant. On February 25, three days before the Iran strikes, the United States signed a $147 million health aid memorandum with Burkina Faso. Washington was writing checks to Ouagadougou while Ouagadougou’s defense minister was shaking hands in Tehran. The US thought it was buying influence. Traoré was already hedged.
This is the AES model. Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso have collectively expelled French forces, invited Russian paramilitaries, dissolved political parties, banned Western media, and built an alliance that explicitly frames itself as anti-imperial. They are now layering Iran into this architecture not because Iran can protect them, but because every new node in the network raises the cost of Western intervention against any single member.
The mechanism is network defense through ideological alignment. No individual node is militarily significant. But the network creates friction. When Burkina Faso offers troops to Iran, it forces Washington to calculate whether sanctioning Ouagadougou pushes the entire Sahel toward Moscow and Beijing. The offer costs Traoré nothing and creates optionality against everything.
Nobody expects Burkinabè soldiers in Tehran. The offer itself is the weapon. Every nation that publicly defies the US during a live military operation degrades the perception of hegemonic consensus. And perception of consensus is the only thing that makes hegemony function without constant kinetic enforcement.
If you want to know whether American unipolar dominance is ending, do not count aircraft carriers. Count the countries that no longer fear saying so out loud.
Burkina Faso just told you.

🚨BREAKING: ICE agents illegally assaulted a 19-year-old U.S. citizen, and then kidnapped him, while admitting on camera they didn’t even know who he was, in Olathe, Kansas.
In the video, an agent is sitting on the teenager’s back as his 14-year-old brother screams that he’s a U.S. citizen, in a Walmart parking lot.
The agent responds:
“Well, we’re going to find that out since whoever drives this [pointing to the truck] isn’t.”
That sentence is the admission.
Because it shows the only thing they knew, at that moment, was something about the registered owner of the truck… not the person they had pinned to the pavement.
Vehicle registration tells you who owns a car. It does NOT tell you who is driving it.
Before law enforcement can detain someone, they need individualized reasonable suspicion tied to that person.
If they had not confirmed the driver matched the registered owner…
If they had not observed a crime…
If they had no warrant…
Then pinning him down, handcuffing him, and loading him into a vehicle raises serious Fourth Amendment concerns.
You don’t get to tackle someone first and figure out who they are later.
You don’t get to use force based on “we’ll find out.”
The issue isn’t just that he’s a U.S. citizen…
The issue is whether agents had lawful, INDIVIDUALIZED suspicion to detain him before they used force.
Because when law enforcement starts treating vehicle registration as automatic suspicion for whoever is behind the wheel…
That’s collective punishment.
And the Constitution does not allow that.
This is what authoritarians are never gonna understand: average, everyday citizens do not like watching paramilitary thugs brutalize children. All the vaporware memes in the world can't fix that for them
Pope Leo XIV walked into one of Rome’s most crime-ridden neighborhoods this weekend — and for the first time in his pontificate, he was flanked by altar girls.
Then, quoting the Second Vatican Council, he said: “the joys and the hopes, the sufferings and the anxieties of the people of God must be the joys and the hopes, the sufferings and the anxieties of the entire Church.”
The Church, he insisted, cannot hide from people’s wounds. https://t.co/EImuFsz8uU
"Why don't you criticize progressives more often?"
I don't consider progressives supporting progressive policies terribly newsworthy. I DO consider Christians supporting un-Christian policies and behavior worth discussing and calling out.
It's about the church, not the nation.
DHS agents in MN swerved in front of an unarmed woman who was recording them, once again WALK IN FRONT OF A CAR with guns drawn. The only thing they've learned from Renee Good is how to get away with killing people. A local cop intervened to stop the illegal arrest!
"Take off their masks. End their immunities. Limit their jurisdiction. Restrain their tactics. All of this can be done through legislation without inhibiting humane immigration enforcement. And if it’s done correctly, legislative reform can lead to greater accountability across the whole of government." https://t.co/rGqAbrvOmW
Fellow Southern Baptists, despite what spokespersons (official or otherwise) of our convention might suggest, right-wing totalitarianism is not inherent to a Christian worldview.
That rage you feel is sacred. Honor it.
We’re in the fight of our lives and honestly we have been for some time now.
Don’t allow yourself to go numb. Don’t look away. None of this shit is normal.
“They’re using the context of immigration as a pretext to sidestep constitutional limits—warrants, due process, and transparency—that protect us all from government abuses.”
– Justin Amash
They will look you dead in the face and say J6 rioters with guns, poles, bats, etc were patriots, but an ER Nurse with a camera and a registered firearm was a domestic terrorist.
NEW statment from the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus:
“We are deeply concerned by this morning’s reports that a federal law enforcement operation in Minneapolis resulted in the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti by federal agents. According to local officials, the man was legally armed, a firearm was recovered at the scene, and he is believed to have been a lawful gun owner and permit to carry holder…
Despite widespread speculation regarding intent, there has been no evidence produced indicating an intent to harm the officers. We are calling for a full and transparent investigation by both state and federal authorities.
Every peaceable Minnesotan has the right to keep and bear arms—including while attending protests, acting as observers, or exercising their First Amendment rights. These rights do not disappear when someone is lawfully armed, and they must be respected and protected at all times.”
The Trump administration claims that Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse, was armed and a threat when agents shot him in the back and killed him. In fact, as best we can tell at this stage from the multiple videos, he was: a.) a Good Samaritan trying to help a small woman with a backpack whom agents had thrown to the ground and pepper sprayed; b.) unarmed, his legally licensed weapon already having been removed by another agent and taken away from the scene seconds earlier; c.) on his knees, pinned by agents and no threat to anyone at the moment two agents shot him approximately ten times in the back. As with Renee Good, it's disgusting not only that the authorities execute a person in cold blood but also that they lie about it to defame their victim and then block an investigation by local police that might establish the facts.
The 2nd amendment is not for hunting, it is not for self protection
It is there to ensure that free people can defend themselves if god forbid government became tyrannical and turned against its citizens
I helped to establish DHS in 2002 and 2003 and later had the homeland security portfolio as a White House Counsel and served as General Counsel of the Department.
I am enraged and embarrassed by DHS’s lawlessness, fascism, and cruelty.
Impeach and remove Trump—now.
