Preston on playing Harold Hill: “I’m not kooky enough to believe that I am Harold Hill. But there is part of the Professor - a good part - that’s gotten into me… I feel that I am a permanently happier guy for having been Harold Hill.”

There's a radical shift in relationships happening in 2026.
People are no longer sacrificing their nervous systems for friendships or love.
Here's Why:
HEY @amazon ! Let this lady know where the cat was lost! Send some folks out to help put up flyers! Send some folks out to help look for this cat! You can be the good guys here. But at least don’t be the BAD guys!!! Help her!!!
If you're in New York, it's worth visiting the Monet in Venice exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.
I was struck by how radically different Monet's Venice looks compared to everyone else's. No people, no gondolas, and even the ornate buildings have a softness that hides their intricate details.
Like Van Gogh, Monet's genius lies less in technical excellence than in how he saw the world — especially water. Both of their paintings feel like they were done in a rush. And that's the point because they were documenting how the world felt, and not necessarily how it actually looked.
There should be a society of people dedicated to still speaking like Cary Grant in the same way that certain cultures ensure ancient languages stay alive
Heidi Klum and her husband Tom Kaulitz — dressed as Medusa and the Greek soldier she turned to stone — on why it’s still “important to do live art” amid the rise of generative AI:
“This is only good for the night. Tonight. Everything goes down the drain, so to speak, in the shower… There still needs to be people that create moments with real people.”
So grateful I got to do this story on actor Tim Curry, who faces his considerable struggles with minimal bitterness, and with his thriving sense of humor.
(Didn’t make the piece, but he enjoyed making The Hunt for Red October and he adored Sean Connery).
The suspension of @jimmykimmel and the promise to silence other Late Night hosts for criticizing the administration should disturb everyone on the Right, Left, and Center. It’s wrong and anyone with a conscience knows it’s wrong.
The upside to this Wizard of Oz controversy is that it's bringing a lot of attention to this movie. While I don't love the use of AI here, more people will be watching this film now. Some will introduce their kids to it. And some of those kids will go on to loving old movies.
