Caitlyn is a third year PhD candidate in @UclaCBE (home dept. @uclachem). She loves spending time with friends & family (and of course @GradSWEUCLA :) and spreading her love for chemistry through teaching and empowering others. Congratulations, Caitlyn!

We are very pumped to announce the winner of the GradSWE@UCLA Inspiration Scholarship π₯Ellin Q. Zhao (@ellin_zhao)! Ellin is a 2nd year PhD student in @ECE_UCLA, broadly researching computational imaging and computer vision. Congratulations Ellin! π
Ellin says, βOver the years, Iβve been supported by so many amazing women-without them, I would not be pursuing a Ph.D. I hope to continue this chain of mentorship, and to make STEM fields more accessible for young womenβ

This quarter we revived our book club, led by board member Stephanie! Our first book is The Patriarchs by Angela Saini. We discussed our favorite quotes and empowering aspects from the book, and shared personal experiences and stories.
