On Friday, TransPennine Express held a service to honour those who served and travelled from Hull Paragon during wartime, centered around an unique art poppy installation at the Interchange by local artist Andy Pea. The service formed part of the Railway 200 anniversary year.

Visitors to London next week will be able to see a unique event held only every five years. Funding for the railways is allocated for five years at-a-time , known as ‘Control Periods’ or CP. The new CP7 starts on 1 April and will be marked by two ceremonies.
Following on from the event in #Manchester last week, a great turnout today in #York for the @TPExpressTrains stakeholder conference. Open, positive discussion on work made on stabilisation and recovery of train services, and outline of plans to win customers back to the railway.
After an absence of over 50 years @TPExpressTrains reconnects #York and #Castleford with direct train services, and after an absence of almost 20 years #Wakefield and #Manchester, enhancing connectivity between North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.
An absolutely outstanding evening at @41monkgate in #York in the company of @KieranCHodgson who made me laugh a lot. As a Scot living in Yorkshire it was a mirror image. I urge everyone to go see his show. It's brilliant.
Spent yesterday with @RNLI in Poole to view #LaunchAMemory names applied to their new boat for Anstruther station. An unique, emotional and special morning talking to other attendees and RNLI staff. Thank you to all who donated to have my brother Douglas commemorated on the boat.
