@joe_yer99 And there are mesh coverings on the green traffic lights! Surprisingly few roasters encountered during today’s canvassing but good fun winding them up.
@joe_yer99 Try GasLine in Partick, had to get a new boiler 3 years ago, they quoted 2/3 of BG for better spec boiler and guys knew what they were doing whereas BG sent a salesman to quote. They do an annual service to keep it under warranty for about £80.
@HairyAngus @MaureenPickeri5 @DochartSalmon Ignore it, only Police and Council can enforce parking *fines* in Scotland. They can take you to *civil* court but to succeed they would have to prove you were the driver at the time. Likewise if they start threatening ‘bailiffs’, we don’t have them but have sheriff’s officers.
@kaukabstewart@JaneyGodley Janey dropped by our stall on GWR in early June. She was on good form and looked well so that’s how I will remember her. She was a huge influence during Covid so will be mourned by more than her family, friends and fans. Suppose Frank will be out of a job now too
@cridhe_ In the same area the road from Braemore junction to Dundonnel used to be known as the Destitution Road. Better known example of course is the Fyrish Monument above Alness. There must be plenty of these job creation sites throughout the Highlands.
@RuairiKelly_@glasgowcathcart He always reminds me of Teddy Taylor (MP and SoS Scotland 60s & 70s). He used to jump on a new bandwagon in the Sunday Post every week then move on?
First @SNPKelvin stall of the season on Byres Road. Plenty of good conversations. Apologies for photographer’s thumb and framing to cut off our Starmer/New New Labour ‘poll’ results - Really Scunnered 78%, a bit 11%, not 11%. Still lots of apathy, we need to get to work.
@MrJohnNicolson Hope he never goes to Sudtirol / Alto Adige where they use *three* languages - German, Italian and Ladin (old Romansch language). The order varies depending on prevalence in each village!
@joe_yer99 The swimming pool attached to the old school is subject to debate whether it can be restored or has to be demolished. That’s it beside the blue container and that bit of pavement is waiting on the decision (could be years yet!)
@msm_monitor More than half of these under-35s have not yet had an opportunity to vote in a referendum (and a similar number of older voters, more likely to vote NO, are no longer around) but “once in a generation …”!
@poloandsons And it goes up in arrears - level set by September inflation figures but increase is not applied until April. A full 6 winter months later (during which energy costs go up again)!
@ArchbishopStua1@MhairiHunter I asked a young councillor (they’re all younger than me) during the election campaign but the best he could suggest was the ‘Swing Bridge’. We need some Dublin-style suggestions.
