Graham linehan
An apology a long time coming.
Interesting that the officers involved will “ undergo reflection”. Presumably this a new WOKE mechanism to be used when proper disciplinary action is clearly appropriate but embarrassing for the Met?
The report goes on to say “procedures for handling future
hate - crime allegations involving HIGH PROFILE figures will be reviewed “ So, one assumes ordinary folk caught up in this ludicrous legislation will continue to be treated as criminals just like Graham Linehan?
What a criminal waste of human time and energy.
@Glinner
The Metropolitan Police has finally apologised to Graham Linehan after he was arrested at Heathrow Airport last September over three gender-critical posts on X.
The creator of Father Ted was detained by five armed police officers on suspicion of a public order offence, questioned for hours and later hospitalised after his blood pressure rose dangerously high.
Linehan had moved to Arizona in the US, saying the sustained abuse and harassment he faced from militant trans activists made remaining in the UK untenable.
Following a five-month investigation, the Met has now accepted that his detention was unacceptable and issued an unreserved apology.
Although none of the officers involved will face disciplinary action, Scotland Yard says they will undergo “reflection” and that procedures for handling future hate-crime allegations involving high-profile figures will be reviewed.
Inspector Matt Hume of the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards said: “I accept that the service provided was not acceptable and recognise the distress and impact this matter has caused Mr Linehan.”
The arrest of an Irish comedian and US resident on British soil over social media posts shocked many across the political spectrum and even drew attention from figures within President Donald Trump’s administration.
The Free Speech Union welcomes the apology offered to Graham, but it should never have taken five months — and Graham should never have been arrested in the first place.
We are proud to have supported @Glinner throughout.

Clueless.
Our public services are far too busy accusing themselves of being racist rather than doing their job.
This was the then Conservative Chair of the Dorset and Wiltshire fire service before I was removed from the Home Affairs Select Committee
Pathetic.
Perhaps Bridget Phillipson would care to comment on this allegation that her mother stole £728K of taxpayers money?
Also the allegation that Sue Sim was forced out for investigating it?
🤔🤔🤔 @bphillipsonMP
I just knew at the time this gut wrenching photo would come back to haunt you - and it surely has.
Your decision to ‘take the knee’ was probably the most stupid of all your stupid decisions. What could you have been thinking?
@LeoKearse
Will someone - anyone please explain to me why Starmer will not ban in Britain the ISLAMIC REVOLUTIONARY GUARD CORPS (IRGC) ?
The USA in 2019 designated them a Foreign Terrorist Organisation.
One might be drawn to the conclusion that our socialist government is being financially supported by the IRGC. What other conclusion can one reach?

Ed Davey has written to Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson demanding she WITHDRAW official EHRC guidance protecting female-only spaces in toilets and changing rooms.
Let that land.
The Equalities and Human Rights Commission — a statutory body — has produced legally grounded guidance telling employers and public bodies that biological men should not access women’s single-sex spaces.
This is not opinion.
This is not politics.
This is the settled legal position following the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling on the meaning of “woman” under the Equality Act.
And Ed Davey wants it gone.
His stated reason?
The guidance is not “compatible with long-standing British values.”
British values.
He used those words to argue AGAINST protecting women’s single-sex spaces.
The same Liberal Democrats who lecture the country about tolerance, inclusion and human rights are now lobbying a Labour minister to tear up statutory guidance that protects every woman in Britain who walks into a changing room, a refuge or a hospital ward.
This is not a fringe position within the Lib Dems.
Their leader wrote the letter.
The party has chosen its side.
It is not the side of women.
Repost if you think women’s single-sex spaces should be protected.
Football fans should come first.
That’s why I’m urging FIFA to take action to ensure people buying World Cup tickets are not ripped off.
It’s unacceptable for fans to be exploited for wanting to cheer on their country on the biggest stage.

Khan is the most evil foreigner in the UK.
I’d like to think that london could be restored when he is ‘disappeared’ but sadly I think it has sunk beyond repair.
When Naming the Attacker's Community Becomes a Sackable Offence
On October 2nd 2025 an Islamist killer named Jihad Al-Shamie attacked a synagogue in Manchester. The following day West Yorkshire Police convened an emergency meeting to discuss the response. The chairman of the Bradford Hate Crime Scrutiny Panel attended. She suggested the force should focus on the Jewish community that had been attacked and address what she called the elephant in the room of Islamist extremism. She was removed from her position within days.
Six complaints were filed against her. All six came from within West Yorkshire Police. Three were filed within two hours and fifteen minutes of the meeting ending. Not one came from a member of the Jewish community whose synagogue had just been attacked.
This was not the first time West Yorkshire Police had moved against her. In April 2025 the panel reviewed the case of a man charged with a hate crime for telling a Muslim call handler that the Prophet Mohammed was a paedophile. The chairman argued, correctly, that criticising a religious figure is not a criminal offence. A panel of lawyers agreed. The case was downgraded. Muslim police officers demanded her removal. The internal emails obtained by the woman through a Subject Access Request and published today by Allison Pearson and Gordon Rayner in the Telegraph are extraordinary.
One email from a West Yorkshire Police address reads: the views and opinions of the scrutiny panel chair are incredibly concerning and do not line with the values of West Yorkshire Police. I believe the only course of action is to remove her as chair and from the scrutiny panel. Another describes her observation that Mohammed married a nine year old as an outright hate crime requiring escalation. A third describes her comments about the Manchester attack as absurd and racist for suggesting the Muslim community was responsible. The Muslim community was responsible. The attacker's name was Jihad Al-Shamie.
Bradford District Commander Richard Padwell wrote to inform her of her removal. His letter noted that her comments were not being recorded as a hate crime and that he would not be providing her personal details to those community members who had concerns about her comments. The woman described the letter as sounding like a threat. The implication that her personal details had been requested and that a hate crime designation had been considered for naming the community responsible for an antisemitic terrorist attack is not a bureaucratic technicality. It is an instrument of intimidation.
West Yorkshire Police has form. In March 2021 a religious studies teacher at Batley Grammar School showed his pupils a cartoon of Mohammed. He and his family went into hiding under threat of violence where they still remain five years later. A government commissioned report found he had been totally and utterly failed by West Yorkshire Police who did not treat him as a victim of crime. Nothing changed.
Lord Young of the Free Speech Union, who is supporting the former chairman's case, said the force was more concerned with protecting the feelings of Muslim community leaders than protecting Jews from terrorist attacks. That is a precise description of what three documented incidents from the same police force in the same region over four years confirm.
The Batley teacher is still in hiding. The Manchester synagogue was attacked. The woman who named the community responsible was sacked. And the police force responsible for protecting all communities in West Yorkshire spent its energy filing complaints against a retired academic for stating the obvious. Two tier policing is not a political allegation. In West Yorkshire it is a documented institutional reality.
"The Muslim community was responsible. The attacker's name was Jihad Al-Shamie."

A judge referred comments made by Reform UK leader Nigel Farage about the Manchester Airport assault case to the Attorney General for consideration of a potential prosecution.
Mr Farage said: “This is a disgraceful action from the judge. Without Richard Tice and me, this case would never have gone to trial.
“It’s quite clear that our judiciary is in an even worse state than imagined. The politicisation of the courts ends under a Reform government.”
@Nigel_Farage had claimed that the trial of Mohammed Fahir Amaaz and Muhammad Amaad, which was ongoing at the time, was an example of “two-tier justice” in Britain.

But you’ve been in power for almost two years now, during which youth unemployment and 16-24s not in education, employment or training has steadily risen. Indeed, unusually for this century, UK youth jobless rate now higher than EU/EZ average. So your ‘determination’ doesn’t seem to be getting us anywhere.
🚨BREAKING: The judge in the Manchester airport attack trial has referred Nigel Farage to the attorney general for potential prosecution 🇬🇧
This is because the leader of Reform UK branded the assault trial as “two-tier”
A statement from the judge says: “The observation made by Nigel Farage was potentially a contempt of court as it implied the guilt of the defendants”
We truly live in a clown country.
🚨 BLAIR BOMBSHELL: SCRAP NET ZERO NOW! “THERE’S NO LOGIC TO IT!” 🔥
Tony Blair Demands Starmer Scrap Milibands Mad Expensive Green Agenda Immediately‼️
Blair has just shredded mad Miliband and the entire net zero agenda. There’s zero logic to it!
Asked directly for total clarity: “For total clarity, are you advising Keir Starmer to rip up Ed Milibands green energy targets?”
Blair bluntly replied: “Yes I am!”
He explained that the 3 biggest emitters in the world today are China, America and India. Together they “account for just over 50% of global emissions.”
All are pursuing cheap energy. They still do renewable energy. “China for example builds more renewable energy than the rest of the world put together.” “It just means that the lens from which they judge policy is cheap energy.”
He rightly points out Britain’s emissions are “under 1% of global emissions” so we can’t solve climate change.
And says he “doesnt understand the logic behind” imposing costs on businesses and consumers to pursue net zero when the rest of the world is not doing so.
He says again he doesnt understand why we’re shutting down North Sea oil and gas industry in circumstances where no other country in the world is doing that if “they’ve still got a requirement to import energy from oil and gas”.
It costs way too much and “is not the right priority!”
Net zero is not saving the planet. It is economic self-harm. Blair has just blown the entire agenda apart.
