Hi Kev - and even allowing for the extreme pressure of the situation, they were two really poor penalty misses against a ropey-looking goalkeeper! At least the PSG one miss was well saved.
That, given everything Gabriel has got away with all season is an absolutely beautiful moment…
PSG deserved winners given that they actually tried to play some football and win during the game rather than stick ten behind the ball
Sincerest thanks from @CricketShrops D40 squad to all @Higham_CC for hosting our game v Yorks IIs today. You always make us so welcome and continue to be so supportive of disability cricket. Scores Yorks 190-7 (40) v SCB 73-9 (21.5).
My step father’s funeral will take place on Monday 18th May in Narberth Crematorium, it’s going to hurt that day so if you could keep me in your thoughts I’d really appreciate it
92 mins - pathetic end to the season. Embarrassing. Salop the better side for the vast majority of the game. Marquis missed two clear chances. Then we gift Gills a chance like that
Sincerest thanks from @CricketShrops D40 squad to @JayAllen33 and all @AllscottHeathCC for hosting our game v Yorkshire IIs today. Scores Shropshire 115-9 (all out) (31.1) v Yorkshire IIs 119-5 (25).
Hi Gooders - I had the wicketkeeping version of those pads for a few years. They were made by Morrants. Evidence attached! Hope all well with you mate 🏏🏏🏏
Hi Chris - certainly it’s a long time since we’ve had a ‘keeper with such quick feet about the box. He has a touch of Deano but without the histrionics! The goalkeeping position for next season will an interesting one for Gav to ponder.
@lukew_powell He's been sensational and will go on to have a very good career, I'm sure.
Given we're now safe though, and with a view to the future, is it time to get Will Brook back out on the pitch...?!
@StaffsBMS Hi Ian, just read in IBMS Gazette about your MBE. Heartiest congrats mate from Pam and me; so well deserved……always knew you were destined for greatness!
Hi Gooders - it is indeed. Been my captain at Oswestry DCC for many years now and plays alongside his brother, Peter. Also played for my CFPD England side that regularly played at Lords against Wales. Works as a carer. Hope all well with you, mate 🏏🏏🏏
“Ben Farmer of St Georges DCC has been named Shropshire Disabled Cricket League ‘Player of the Year’ for 2025, an award made annually in memory of SDCL secretary, Graham Furber’s son, Richard. The league has run every winter since 1990, save the covid year.” Congratulations Ben.
@BBCShropSport Not the right time for Gav Cowan. Can’t see why he would leave Brackley to come to Salop at the moment either.
Need a wise head. A ‘been there, done that’ manager to come in now.
Hi Chris……and a player that was very lucky to still be on the park; that first yellow could so easily have been a red, as that tackle by their keeper right at the end could well have been too. I remain amazed how managers or deputies can have such different views on any game!
@HarrogateTown You're whining about the sending off but this is a player who had already been booked, and he then deliberately prevents us taking a throw-in quickly. It was right in front of where I sit and he was 100% guilty. He has no-one to blame but himself for his own stupidity.
