Trump's demands to Zelenskyy (the defender):
1) Formal apology
2) Give up the minerals
3) Hold elections even though Ukrainian law forbids it
4) Declare Russia as the non-aggressor
5) Give up all the temporarily occupied territories to Russia
Trump's demands to Putin (the aggressor):
Absolutely nothing.
This cannot be stressed enough - Trump is allied with Putin.
@OllyMetcalfe @UKLabour@bphillipsonMP It's equivalent to a 6p increase in income tax for those affected. It's unprecendented internationally. £520 / 1p increase in income tax. £3k for us for one child/yr. Why is nobody telling this story? Surely a court challenge is due.
@goldstone_tony@nhs_pensions Honestly if NHS Pensions won't put out an official way of calculating it (or heaven forbid CALCULATE IT FOR US???), this is another reason to report themselves to the regulator. I've used Tony's calculator, but the official system is an absolute joke.
@michaelnef44 @TaraBull808 I've worked private and public sector. It's different. But your approach is a bit simplistic. The private sector can't do anything without the public sector underpinning the legal/road/policing/government/education backbone that your country has. Lucky you.
1/2 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The media would have you believe NHS staff have had "bumper pay rises" and all is well, but the data released this week show another story👇. Real terms pay in the NHS remains⏬whereas its🔼for others. Everyone will be 👀 @PayReviewBodies very closely
@goldstone_tony We are being let down by HM Treasury & HMG by having to take so much time & effort try and mitigate massive pension tax bills when we have no control over pension input. I cannot believe we are putting up with this. It is state sponsored theft. @wesstreeting@RachelReevesMP
@gdcuk Fundamentally, NHS Pensions don't seem to be able to do it, let alone non-financially qualified doctors. Report to ombudsman, NHS Pensions are fit for purpose.
@goldstone_tony@BMA_Pensions@nhs_pensions@michaelkbrodie@TPRgovuk I got my RPSS and went through Fovis Mazars. Unfortunately McCloud is going to cost me £14k. No choice McCloud is enforced until retirement. Scheme pays probably ok?? reclaim Hokey ?when. Tony/Exo and others only saving grace. For doctors, the NHS Pension is not fit for purpose.
In Germany, if you send your children to private school, you can claim 30% of the tuition fees, capped at €5,000 per annum, per child as a tax deduction. Meanwhile Britain has become a country which punishes families for going private.
As a state school teacher, it is deeply upsetting to watch Labour introduce the only Education Tax in Europe. It will have the following consequences:
1. Since extra money hasn’t been put aside for state education, per pupil funding for state schools will necessarily decrease as 3-7% of independent school students join (according to the IFS).
2. Disadvantaged children in affected areas will find themselves in larger class sizes, meaning less scope for differentiated support.
3. Considerably fewer disadvantaged children will receive bursaries to independent schools as it can’t be justified with rising fees.
4. Disadvantaged children will have less chance of getting into good & outstanding schools as they are crowded out by those taking places & moving to relevant catchment areas.
5. Many of the hours of free teaching provided to schools in the most deprived areas by independent schools, along with the outreach programmes, funding for local initiatives, free access to facilities, summer schools etc. will have to be cancelled, meaning disadvantaged children will receive less support.
6. Disadvantaged children will be crowded out of grammar schools where they still exist.
7. SEN children will face unnecessary disruption in the middle of an academic year.
This policy is rushed, poorly devised, & it promises no credible, positive outcome. Children & families from all walks of life will lose out due to Labour Party policy.
The Govt must reverse this policy choice now & save thousands of families from unnecessary turmoil as well as thousands more from the external consequences of this pointless, pernicious policy.

@goldstone_tony I *think* I am getting 3.7k back, but paying 5.3k for the 2022-2023 year (as still 40k AA and went over). Note -no "usual" brown envelope even though >40k PIA (<40 for each scheme though..) #rpss made me £3.7k thanks @goldstone_tony for flagging it up! HMRC tool takes ~1 hour.
@bphillipsonMP Utter disgrace. Votes from those who fail are propping up Labour. Stop being part of a race to the bottom. And do the maths again, many studies show this is a total own goal.
@benonwine Do you have a source or is this engagement farming? Feeds are full of unsubstantiated allegations. This is juicy but no source, no integrity.
I had to tell my two children yesterday that they will be leaving their independent school at Christmas due to the VAT rise in January that we simply cannot afford. My daughter was bullied in main stream which is how we ended up in independent. Thanks for the hard work that you have done but this Government dont care for our children or their parents, they have thrown pensioners under the bus, next its our children. We work 6 days a week to be able to afford the fees and its been worth every penny, the VAT has tipped it over the edge and I feel for every child and parent that will loose out because of this! My children are heart broken
