Is a title-or-bust view of this season poison for No. 1 Florida?

“We’re leaning into it," Todd Golden says. "Last year, I’m not sure we were ready for all the expectation. But I think this team’s ready for it. We’re not running from the No. 1 target."

Even Jon Sumrall knows his response was a "word salad." Yet his answer about where Florida goes at QB after upsetting Texas with Tramell Jones Jr. was revealing nonetheless.

FINAL (OT): Baylor knocks off the projected No. 1-ranked team, Florida, in a preseason exhibition, winning 82-76 in Jacksonville.

Kayden Mingo was fantastic, with 31 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Florida will wrap up its preseason slate against Stetson next week.

Denzel Aberdeen ties the game at 68-68 with .3 seconds remaining.

Unless Baylor pulls off a miracle coming out of the timeout, we are heading to overtime in Jacksonville.

Halftime in Jacksonville: Florida leads Baylor, 28-25.

The Gators couldn't get shots to fall during the first 12 minutes, with Florida starting 2-for-15 from the field, but UF's high-level defense prevented the Bears from building an early lead.

Baylor went more than eight minutes without a make from the field as Florida used a 12-0 run to retake the lead.

Four-star OT commit Samuel Bailey remains confident in Florida, but other programs aren't backing off.

He was at Tennessee on Saturday, but certainly took notice of the Gators' win over Texas from afar.

"My heart is with Florida."
