@DGHRecruitment have sent me a holding email for a job application, the spec of which requested that applicants should have a high attention to detail, with the phrase:
"...sometimes due to the volume of CV's received to our adverts...".
That fills me with loads of confidence.
@CapitalOneUK Thanks Abbie - much appreciated. I don't have the letter so will call that number. I'll return each one I get in the next three months and mark them for the attention of Lucy-Marie Hagues.
If @CapitalOneUK don't stop sending me unsolicited junk mail, offering me one of their credit cards (I've had one a day for the last three days) I swear I'm going to report them to the FSA. Put me off ever considering them.
@CapitalOneUK Deep - for the last time, this is not an email. It's unsolicited mail, coming through my door (you've grabbed my details from Companies House). It's every week now. I've registered with the MPS and will start sending anything more from you to the Royal Mail Scam mail address.
@mattcity5@philmcnulty As a fan, I did as soon as I saw the first still, even before the lines were drawn. Would have been impossible in a crowded penalty area in real time, but that applies to many VAR calls on goals. That took waaaay too long though. Need to speed up.
@Bob_Helpful@henrywinter Spot on Bob. Henry either hasn't understood the decision or has worded his reply poorly. It looked off to the naked eye, the subjective element was interference, and only Haaland was grappling from an offside position, therefore impeding Thiaw.
Took way too long though.
@neil_AVFC@SkyFootball It was. The confusion that at least 50% of people on social media made was that they assumed the measurement was to Thiaw, who was level with Haaland. However, Pope was ahead of Thiaw so became the second last defender, and the gap was obvious on the still frame without lines.
@eyup_io@SkyFootball The line was clear - he was offside. The debate was on whether he was interfering which is subjective and the ref made his call at the screen. Took too long though.
@leighdelves@SomeBritishDud1@SkyFootball The interfering with play bit is subjective. He was definitely in an offside position. That's why the ref had to go to the screen to make the call on interfering.
@stewarthpetrie@SkyFootball I guess it's subjective on the point of whether Haaland was interfering which is why the ref needed to make the call at the screen. The offside part is clear.
@Thelfc_Ace The trouble is, that was fairly direct from a long central ball. We worked out that Arsenal struggle against that. According to Slot, you don't/won't do that. I think Slot could be your biggest problem.
@FBAwayDays I ran the football supporters club at uni. I'm an NUFC fan and I ended up in the away end at The Den (the old one) for Millwall v Sunderland in March 1993. Never been as grateful for a 0-0.
@NUFC_hustle@Logxnlufc Yeah I know. I wasn't sure on first viewing though. Surprised there wasn't a more prominent VAR check. I guess they'd done that by the time the celebrations died down.
@henrywinter I went to Burnley for an away game as an 8 year-old in 1983, & waited for the NUFC team to get off the bus. There was a huge crowd and just as KK passed me my dad lifted me up & I got the lightest touch on the back of his jacket. He turned round, smiled, & said "Alright son...?"
@edwardgray Really good analysis. I really wanted Howe at NUFC before we got him and absolutely love him. Would have been happy with Emery too and despite what you've written, I think Emery shades it currently. He maximises points from games with in-game subs and tactics, far more than Howe.
@pistol1603 @RedRoseMichelle That's not tucked in enough for me. VAR were never going to overturn that and I actually think VAR may have sent the ref to the screen if he hadn't given it onfield.
