Are police Scotland preparing for civil unrest?
My source works for a company that makes props and fake items for stage production.
Police Scotland have recently made a 40 thousand pound order for fake bricks, beer bottles, hammers, axes and sticks. These are items that look and feel like the real thing but are made out of foam, rubber or 3D printed glass bottles to be used for training sessions throughout Scotland.
Whilst the true reason is unknown my source says these are most likely to be used to prepare the police for civil unrest where there could be disorder on the street and the police can train for this using weapons that look like the real thing but will do no damage.

SO WHICH IS IT? YOU CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.

I’m being told that Danny Tommo can be charged with criminal damage because the French authorities had custody and control of the boat.

Right.

So let me get this straight.

If, in the eyes of the law, taking custody and control of that boat is enough to say it now belongs to the French authorities, then in my eyes you have opened up a much bigger question.

Because those same authorities are the ones dealing with these boats and the people on them.

And section 25 of the Immigration Act covers assisting unlawful immigration into the UK, with a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

So if we are now saying that custody and control gives you legal responsibility for the boat, then where does that responsibility end?

Because if Danny Tommo is being accused of a crime involving a boat that nobody apparently owns, but suddenly that boat is considered to belong to the French authorities because they took custody and control of it…

then why aren’t the people who took custody and control of it being arrested and detained for people smuggling if they have assisted people in getting into the UK?

That is the question I’m asking.

You can’t tell me the boat is theirs when it helps establish criminal damage…

and then suddenly that responsibility disappears when we start talking about people being smuggled across the Channel.

If Danny is going to be held responsible for that boat, then why aren’t the people who supposedly have custody and control of it being held responsible for the people on it?

You can’t have it both ways.

So tell me…

Here’s what I think is really bothering the establishment about Reform UK.

They’ve started playing by the establishment’s own rules.

The £36 million donation from Ben Delo? Under the rules Parliament created, there is no limit on the amount a permissible donor can give to a political party. The donation still has to comply with the checks and reporting requirements, obviously, but £36 million itself doesn’t suddenly become illegitimate because Reform received it.

Then look at 7th May.

People went to the ballot box under the electoral system the establishment created. Reform won 1,454 council seats across England and took 23.8% of the vote, the largest share of any party.

Nobody hacked the system.

Nobody changed the rules halfway through.

Reform simply turned up and started winning under the existing rules.

For years, it sometimes felt as though Reform were being asked to play football with a flat ball while the established parties owned the stadium.

Now Reform have got onto the same pitch with serious funding, a national organisation and millions of voters behind them.

And suddenly everyone wants to talk about whether the rules are fair.

That is the interesting part.

Because the problem for the establishment isn't that Reform have broken the rules.

It's that Reform have learned how to play by them.

And on 7th May, using those rules, they finished top of the electoral scoreboard.

Funny how quickly people start discussing changing the rules when the wrong team starts winning.
