The new Danish government is cutting the corporation tax rate from 22% to 19% over three years, and eliminating income tax bands for the highest earners.
“It is crucial that Denmark remains competitive,” Prime Minister Frederiksen said.
It's sad that the British government does not have a similar attitude.
The big question in all of this is why were these messages between Darren Jones and Peter Mandelson not released on Monday alongside all the other Humble Address documents?
The Humble Address is clear that "electronic communications… between Lord Mandelson and ministers… during his time as Ambassador" must be released to Parliament - that is exactly what these messages between Darren Jones and Peter Mandelson are.
The Cabinet Office, which Darren Jones is in charge of, oversees this process, and it is beginning to look as though that department cannot be trusted to make politically sensitive decisions.
In my mind, we now need an independent third party, not subject to the pressures of the Government, to review this matter.
The most natural option would be for the National Audit Office to look at this. When I was chair of the Public Accounts Committee, the NAO had access to every single document in government no matter how highly classified.
The NAO could review the information and documents the Government holds and provide reassurance that the demands of the Humble Address are being properly complied with.

Residents told me Lloyds was letting them down.
They could not deposit cheques locally at Post Offices, cash hubs or Banking Hubs, even though other major banks still allow it.
So I raised it in Parliament.
Now 120 MPs from across the House have backed my call for Lloyds to think again.
This is about fairness.
Older residents, disabled people, small businesses, charities and community groups still use cheques. They should not be forced to struggle with an app, send cheques through the post, or travel miles when a proper local service could be made available.
Lloyds should restore cheque deposits through Post Offices and Banking Hubs.
EXCLUSIVE: Darren Jones
🔥 praised Mandelson the day he was fired
🔥was rude about Reeves
🔥took several swipes at Jonny Reynolds
🔥bemoaned the influence of the trade unions
BUT none of these messages made it into the public disclosure on Monday. Fancy that! https://t.co/BFIKlQR2Gt
I dreaded this news. So sad to get off a long flight and learn that my dear friend Alex Younger had died. Alex was the best of #MI6 - high intelligence, low ego, driven - beneath the affable exterior, deeply moral, kind, fun and irreverent. And an ace spy. RIP.
Under Labour:
1,318 fewer police
1,900 fewer teachers
56,323 criminals released early
72,000 small boat migrants
366,000 more unemployed
...But working age benefit spending is set to have increased by £45 billion a year & (as they admit) that's the only thing Labour care about.
These leaked messages prove that even the Prime Minister’s right hand man doesn’t think the Chancellor is capable of growing the economy.
It doesn't matter if it's Starmer or Burnham running the show, the problem is the Labour Party.
I was astonished this morning, the Solicitor General couldn’t answer simple questions about the wide-ranging changes their government are making to jury trials.
The Solicitor General couldn't explain what legal safeguards exist under Labour's plans to change jury trials.
If ministers can't answer basic questions about accountability and judicial review, Parliament is right to ask whether these reforms have been properly thought through.
The lack of empathy from the Education Secretary on @LBC in response to the closure of so many independent schools and thus additional pressure on state schools is truly shocking.
An ideological policy driven from the mantra "what I can't have, you shan't have" 😡
Keir Starmer has been missing in action, and Nigel Farage has chosen to sow chaos and division. Only Kemi Badenoch has managed to speak for Britain on the cruel death of Henry Nowak > Daily Mail > https://t.co/HKf9r2t6N7
More of CNN's false equivalence language. Ukraine is not targeting St. Petersburg, but striking military installations, Russian warships, and oil refineries. It's the Russian terror state that strikes cities and targets civilians. https://t.co/Cy7DgqtkuT
The news about Sir Alex Younger has hit really hard. I met him just once. In February this year, he was the keynote speaker at our parliamentary away day.
He was superb.
I wished he had been in government when I was in cabinet. Even in retirement he was studiously apolitical. Yet the depth of knowledge, expertise and his sheer love of the United Kingdom and deep commitment to her defence and safety shone through with his remarks and answers to even the most knotty questions.
He gave candid advice on how to use our time in opposition to get ready for defence and national security in this new geopolitical era.
So much of the recent policy work and research we have started and announced was based on his recommendations. There is so much to do and so little time.
It was a real privilege to have a long lunch with him that day. I am grateful for the time he spent with me and deeply sad to know our agreement to have further conversations will now not happen.
It is odd to feel such a loss for someone I only met once but his death is a loss not only of a remarkable man, but of the wisdom, insight and clarity he still had to offer.
He was a great man who loved, fought for and defended our country in ways we will never know.
May he rest in peace.
People support clean energy.
They do not support being ignored.
Around 9 in 10 respondents oppose the proposed Clean Air Solar Farm.

This is wrong. It doesn't matter who you vote for, but Kemi Badenoch expressly stated that ALL lives matter and it shouldn't be about someone's race. This sort of "attack ad" isn't about facing up to important issues, it's just a lie.
Like I’ve been saying for a few days now, something isn’t right inside Reform. Their basic internal discipline is collapsing. Fighting amongst themselves. Putting out stupidly transparent and inflammatory attack ads. Mucking up the Makerfield selection. There’s an issue there.
