Kingdom Perspectives, Part I We do not see things the way they are; we see things the way we are. In this teaching, Graham Jones opens the theme of kingdom perspectives by revisiting the Sermon on the Mount, which once felt to him like the Law of Moses Part 2. Rather than lowering the bar, Jesus raises it so high that only He can meet it — and grace proves far more demanding than the Law. Yet Jesus is not telling us to try harder; He is describing how His own life expresses itself in a citizen of the kingdom when we come to Him, die, and let Him birth His life in us. Graham then explores how little we actually perceive: Donald Rumsfeld's "unknown unknowns," Sherlock Holmes asking Watson about the steps at Baker Street, and the way we suddenly notice the vehicle we want to buy. We see with the eye, but we perceive with the heart, filtered through culture, memory, pain, and experience. Like a dog trained by an invisible fence that stays away from the boundary long after the power is off, we live within limits that no longer exist. Beyond the Invisible Fence You don't see things as they are; you see things as you are. In this message, Graham Jones begins a journey into kingdom perspectives — learning to see the way God sees. Salvation is not a waiting room until heaven; it is entry into the kingdom of God, where we who are already new creations learn to think, speak and live as citizens of heaven. Twelve spies saw the same Promised Land, yet ten came back as grasshoppers in their own sight, because what we see flows from our hearts and from how we see God. A wrong image of God limits what we receive from Him. Hearing God's Voice Q&A Processing the prophetic begins with judgment: is the word biblical, and does the Spirit bear witness in your relationship with the Father? Graham Jones refuses ad hoc prophecy from strangers, returns every word to God, and lets the peace of God act as umpire — a peace we must practice, not drown in noise. After receiving a prophecy, lean not on your own understanding; everything God gives should increase dependency on Him, as Jesus Himself said He could do nothing of Himself. Others play a role according to context: buy the coffee without a committee, but bring third-party words under church covering, because wrong words over others cost the body. True words can be delayed when faith goes into neutral, as when Graham forgot he was believing for a car until the Lord called him to repent in the rain in Northern Ireland — and the car came that evening. Mary's obedience at Cana moved "not My time" to "His time." Hearing God's Voice Part XI Getting a word from God is not enough; we must understand it and act on it — and sometimes the action is allowing the word to shape us. Much of Western charismatic culture treats prophecy as a brief emotional lift, then forgets it. God is more interested in identity and inheritance. The first step with any word is to test it by Scripture, as Peter did at Pentecost when he said, "This is that" from Joel. Unbiblical words must be thrown out, no matter how dramatic the packaging. Neutral words still require listening for what is not said. Go back to God rather than dream books or your own understanding; most revelation is a jigsaw piece inviting deeper seeking. Graham's visa dream screamed refusal in the soul, yet the Spirit said everything was fine — and the visa came. Mary stored words in her heart and pondered them. Ask what do looks like, distinguishing rest from passivity. Like the king who fired only three arrows for Elisha, half-hearted response limits outcome. Entering the Center of God's Plans God has a plan for the universe, for nations, and for every believer — and He wants those plans known, not merely believed in abstract. Romans 8:28 is not a blank check for every circumstance; all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Many Christians drift to the periphery of His will like riders pushed to the edge of a merry-go-round, busy with good things He never assigned. First Corinthians 2 declares that eye has not seen what God prepared for those who love Him — yet the Spirit has already revealed those things to us. Relating to the Holy Spirit as Guide turns the inner witness into a lighthouse. When God speaks, the word itself forms us, as it did David, Mary, and Abraham; our work is to keep the seed. He establishes identity before inheritance, replaces past labels with a father's blessing, and accelerates timing when we act on His word, as Mary did at Cana. Write the vision. Invite wise counsel.
