Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22. Many of us -God’s people, His Church-are not living out His word. Jesus came because of love, to show us how to love. Many of us are not living out the love of Jesus. Do what it says.

1 Pet1:17. Calling God Father brings responsibility & blessing. A call to live, passing thru this life,with a heart attitude changed by the Father’s love

So, then let us not sleep[in spiritual indifference] as the rest[of the world does] but let us keep wide awake [alert and cautious] and let us be sober[self controlled, calm and wise] 1 Thess 5:6(amp)Now more than ever, we are called to be self controlled, in and through Jesus.

Do not,therefore,fling away your fearless confidence for it has a glorious & great reward. Heb 10:3The Father gives the gift of confidence, when we trust & obey. Confidence has its own reward here-to stand boldly as a Christ follower. But this speaks of heavenly rewards as well

“For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people” 1 Peter 2:15. We do not have to defend the Bible with words; we show the world our love for the Word of God through our very lives.

“So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view” 2Cor 5:16. What a difference it would make if we all adopted Paul’s stand of obedience to Christ. The world would be a better place if we looked at everyone as Christ looks at them- with love, willing to die for them

“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today’”Heb 3:13. We have today. Today. To live well, encourage each other, rejoice in what God has given and done through Jesus. Today. To share,to give hope,to point others to Jesus. What will we each do with today?

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you Eph 4:32 Strong encouragement any time, but perhaps even more necessary this time of year. In the hurry and the stress, take time to be kind.

“Sing to the LORD a new song, for He has done marvelous things” Ps 98:1 Not the same old song! “His mercies never end! They are new every morning.” Lam.3:22-23. God gives us newness of grace and love daily,along with our remembrance of what He has done. That deserves a new song!!

The LORD knows all human plans; He knows that they are futile. BUT the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in Whom I take refuge. Ps 94:11,22. The futility of this life-pain, evil, injustice-leads us, in Christ alone, to hope- the strength and peace Jesus gives

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom-Psalm 90:12. Life is short. Live for Christ, rejoice in Christ in every moment. As a Christ follower, be intentional about the moments.

“Teach me Your way,LORD, that I may rely on Your faithfulness;give me an undivided heart” Ps 86:11 We will seek something/one to rely on, trust in. If are hearts are divided, we can’t follow God exclusively. An undivided heart knows the true teaching, relies on the One God.

The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing. Psalm 82:5 This world is filled with ‘gods’; ‘gods’ we revere, serve, are enslaved to.But “they know nothing”. They are useless, worthless; they leave us feeling empty. Awake my soul!There is only one true God Who fills the heart
