@JurgenHabanera@Che_MyBae@StevenHiller18@CrankyFed Nah, it happened. WaPo even ended up doing a wishy-washy, AITA-esque piece about it. The weirdest aspect of the whole debacle was how varied the haters' complaints were. It seemed like every possible bad faith angle of attack was represented in the replies/QTs.
@bigblackjacobin lol, so it isn't that SV was never really progressive and was always stacked with libertarian weirdos - it's that they were hit by friendly fire in a tragic example of overzealous finger-wagging?
@peterdaou Too complicated for them, Peter. They'll just say "Trump isn't moral, though, is he?" And then they'll go back to scratching their heads and asking "How could he win *this* time when he lost *last* time?"
@xspotsdamark Hmm, I thought it was done because it was what the British and Americans wanted, not necessarily the French. I'd be interested to learn more.
I also heard that they were so hard up for white troops that they had to settle for Spaniards rather than white Frenchmen.
@RealRockatansky Idk he looks caught, like he was thinking "Fuck, now Rockatansky is gonna see this and be like 'GIVE ME MY FUCKING MICKEY D'S, BOBBY!!!!'"
@monoblancoatx @IwriteOK That is good; those who cynically appropriate it are not. E.g. Partner A berates Partner B if/when B declines sex. B later tells A that bc of this, B has come to associate sex w/unpleasantness. A twists this into B being the real abuser bc "they just admitted they're withholding"
@jpbrammer I miss working in P-Town every Wednesday or Thursday-ish (grocery route). It was always a long day, and Commercial Street was usually pretty hectic, but the tips were good & nowhere else have I had someone join me in singing "Stormy Weather" while I straightened out my totes.
@Docstockk I can't believe you have the fucking gall to claim that the problem is the left calling people fascists WHEN YOU'RE OFF RUNNING INTERFERENCE FOR FUCKING FASCISTS LIKE NINA POWER.
D
Just want to let fellow Riv rat @lukeoneil47 know that I just played Farewell Transmission on a kitchen Bluetooth (phone placed in a pot or deep pan) over the Rue du Taur in Toulouse.
