There was so much to shop for at the 3rd Annual North Philly Flex vendor fair! Supporting our community is an important part of #TempleMed and @TempleHealth's mission. Thank you to the Student Diversity Council for organizing the event and to the all the vendors who participated!
Hi, I started moving my Lab account to Blue Sky Social (@xaviergranalab.bsky.social) from X. I used https://t.co/6NyYreSHx4 to help me find about 20% of the people who I was following on X. (thanks @AdeSaurin and @RolandDunbrack).
I was using my X account for scientific purposes and to sponsor trainees in the programs that I co-direct. It seems to me that a platform that promotes untruthful statements from above may be useful to some politically, but it is at odds with scientific and mentoring principles.
This #WorldCancerResearchDay, we celebrate the trailblazers within our #TempleMed molecular and cellular biology departments, Fels Cancer Institute for Personalized Medicine, and @FoxChaseCancer who are improving the accessibility and quality of cancer treatments.
A student asked me a question: I am sometimes told that it is “easier” for me in STEM as a student from an UR background because of all the grants available to me. How do I respond to this?
I wanted to expand on my answer a bit here…
Proud of all the #TempleMed graduate students who presented during Dawn Marks Research Day. I am so impressed by the hard work, innovation, and passion that was on display. You truly embody what it means to be #TempleMade!

@FelsURMProgram trainee Korrey Hart gave a great talk about TNIK as a therapeutic target in LSCC! Korrey’s work in @PTorresAyuso lab was generously supported by @REC_U54 Summer Cancer Research Institute.
My absolute favorite part of this job is seeing the trainees in my lab soar.! Travis Bordner worked in our for the past 2 months as part of the @REC_U54 Summer Cancer Research Program. He has done a fantastic job and gave a great talk on his work this morning.
Today marks the first day of @jay_jackson96 F31 fellowship! Congratulations to Jazmyne for this well-deserved honor. Also, big thanks to @NIDDKgov for supporting Jazmyne as she studies mitochondria in eosinophilic esophagitis.
