ONE. POINT. SEVEN. BILLION. DOLLARS.
That's what the Trump DOJ wants sitting in a giant "anti-weaponization fund" – which sounds less like a government program and more like the final boss level in a video game where democracy dies in a Chili's parking lot and nobody even looks up from their nachos.
And who qualifies for this money?
Oh, just the people who treated January 6th like a WWE pay-per-view sponsored by tactical pants and brain worms. The same crowd that beat cops with flagpoles, smeared feces on Capitol walls like agitated zoo animals, and tried to overturn an election because their orange messiah LOST. FAIR. AND. SQUARE.
NOW THEY GET PAID.
FROM US.
THE TAXPAYERS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
You know what? Fine. FINE. Let's just go all the way. Let's give bank robbers travel vouchers. Let's hand out Marriott points to arsonists. Maybe we set up a federal "Attempted Coup Rewards Program" – every fifth insurrection, you get a free waffle maker and a thank-you note from the Treasury Department.
And Trump's defense? His DEFENSE?
"I didn't do the deal."
HE DIDN'T DO THE DEAL.
The President of the United States is wandering around like a confused man who stumbled into the wrong wedding reception and is now eating somebody else's cake. A billion-dollar slush fund for political loyalists materializes out of the federal government like a tumor – and the man whose DOJ created it says he just heard about it. Like he discovered his cat threw up behind the couch.
"I just heard about it yesterday."
TERRIFIC. VERY COMFORTING.
Now let's talk about the Republicans. I'd be remiss – I would be REMISS – if I didn't mention that these are the same people who screamed for DECADES about fiscal responsibility. They hyperventilated over school lunches. They treated food stamps like the four horsemen of the apocalypse were personally delivering generic peanut butter to single mothers on behalf of SATAN HIMSELF.
But NOW?
NOW suddenly there's one point seven BILLION dollars floating around – *one seven seven six million dollars, which is either a coincidence or the most on-the-nose grift in American history* – for Trump allies, operatives, grifters, and what I can only describe as the January 6th Cosplay Militia. People who showed up in Viking hats and zip ties to overthrow the government and are NOW apparently a protected class with a federal slush fund.
Amazing. AMAZING. Isn't that amazing? The deficit is apparently fine now. The deficit – that sacred, terrifying, civilization-ending deficit that Republicans invoked like a prayer at a tent revival every time someone suggested maybe kids should eat lunch – that deficit just EVAPORATES the second the money is going to the people who beat police officers with flagpoles and then went home and sold merch about it.
This isn't conservatism.
This isn't even a PRETENSE of conservatism.
This is a taxpayer-funded protection racket dressed in a flag, screaming about patriotism, while its hand is LITERALLY IN YOUR POCKET.
And here's the part that should keep you up at night – the part that has ME up at night, standing in my kitchen in my underwear at 2am talking to the microwave because the microwave is the only one who will LISTEN – this doesn't end with “compensation.”
This is a blueprint.
Reward the foot soldiers. Feed the machine. Normalize political violence. Signal to every future mob exactly what happens to people who show up and do the work. THEN DO IT AGAIN.
We are not doing this.
We are NOT doing this.
Call your senator. Call your representative. Tell them the United States Treasury is not a GoFundMe for insurrectionists, cop beaters, and failed coup tourists with a gift shop.
ONE POINT SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS.
I need to lie down.

And this grandpa and political satirist is OUTRAGED.
TORCHES AT THE BALLOT BOX
Nothing says "free elections" like troops near polling places and a guy yelling "trust me."
Donald Trump says he'll do "anything necessary" to protect elections.
ANYTHING NECESSARY
Let me explain something to you. When a man who spent four years screaming that elections are rigged, then tried to overturn one, then got indicted for trying to overturn one, then got elected AGAIN by people who apparently thought that was fine—when THAT man looks into a camera and says he'll do "anything necessary" to protect the vote—
You don't nod along. You don't say "well, let's see how this develops."
YOU LEAVE THE ROOM. YOU LEAVE THE BUILDING.
You flag down the nearest responsible adult, and you explain, in simple words, that a man with a gas can just announced he's joining the fire department AND HE SEEMS VERY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT IT.
That's what happened. That is the sentence that was said out loud, by the President of the United States, and half the country heard it and thought, "Hm. Seems fine."
SEEMS FINE?!
When did we—as a nation—collectively decide that "seems fine" was an acceptable standard? WHEN? Was there a meeting? Did someone put it to a vote? Because I missed that. I was apparently in the bathroom when America said, "You know what, let's just lower the bar until we can step over it in flip-flops."
And now – NOW – we're talking about ICE agents and National Guard troops near polling places.
Okay.
Okay, I want you to think about that for one second.
Just one. I want you to hold that image in your mind.
You pull up to vote. You've got your little sticker ready. You're thinking about whether to get a coffee after. And standing outside the polling place is a guy in tactical gear who would very much like to know if you have your papers in order.
THAT'S THE SCENE. That's what we're describing as "election protection."
In what world—in what ZIP CODE—does a military presence at a polling place make regular people feel MORE comfortable voting? In what deranged, upside-down, logic-proof universe does that sentence make sense?
I'll tell you what universe. The one where the goal was never to make people comfortable voting. The goal – and I realize this is going to come as a tremendous shock – is to make certain people STOP.
Marc Elias, who has forgotten more about election law than most people have ever known, called this a "five-alarm fire."
FIVE ALARMS.
Do you understand what five alarms means? That's not "we should probably look into this." That's not "an interesting development worth monitoring." Five alarms means THE BUILDING IS GONE.
Five alarms means the firefighters are on the phone with each other saying, "No, no – you go." Five alarms means someone is standing in the parking lot with singed eyebrows going, "I tried to tell them."
We are at five alarms. And you know what cable news did? They convened a panel. They sat four people around a table and asked them whether "troops near polling places" was, quote, "a concerning development."
ONE OF THEM SAID IT DEPENDS.
IT DEPENDS.
On WHAT?! On the troops' vibe?! On whether they look friendly?! On whether they bring a little folding table and some complimentary bottled water? Maybe even a package of Oreo cookies?
And the Democrats – gotta love ’em – according to Elias, are STILL – STILL – sitting around waiting for the institutions to ride in and save everybody.
The institutions.
The same institutions that have been hit so many times they look like a guardrail on a mountain road after a demolition derby. The same courts that are backlogged. The same systems that have been stress-tested, sand-blasted, litigated, legislated around, and packed with people whose primary qualification was that they thought the last guy was actually pretty good.
THOSE institutions???
I love optimism. I genuinely do. But there is optimism, and then there is standing in a burning building saying, "The sprinklers should kick in any minute." At some point you have to accept that the sprinklers are not coming, someone removed the sprinklers, and the guy who removed the sprinklers is now in charge of fire safety.
THAT'S WHERE WE ARE.
Trump doesn't talk like someone preparing for an election. He talks like a casino owner who's just realized the roulette wheel can land on whatever number he announces in advance, and he's really warming up to that concept.
"Anything necessary."
You know what elections that require military enforcement to "protect" have in common? They are not, historically, considered the gold standard of democratic participation. You don't see Switzerland deploying infantry to the polling stations. Finland isn't stationing ICE agents outside the gymnasium where the third-graders normally have badminton.
Only certain kinds of governments need armed personnel to make sure the vote goes smoothly.
And I'm not going to say which kind. Because you know. You already know. You knew before I started this sentence. You knew before you clicked on this. You've known for a while now, which means the only remaining question is what we're going to do about it.
Because "seems fine" is not a plan.
"Let's see what happens" is not a strategy. And a man who tells you he'll do ANYTHING NECESSARY to win an election he hasn't lost yet is not protecting democracy.
He's describing what he's going to do to it.

Share this if you think elections should be decided by voters. Not by whoever controls the troops at the door.

And that's the way this grandpa and political satirist sees it.
TRUMP DEMANDS A BILLION FOR A BALLROOM — THEN MOCKS DYSLEXIA FOR FUN
Let’s take stock of what has happened this week in the United States of America.
The President of the United States mocked a man for having a learning disability.
Then he asked for a billion dollars to build his ballroom.
He did both of these things. In the same week.
The ballroom situation first. The ballroom situation is the kind of story that requires a moment of quiet before you can begin.
The White House – the People's House, the one on the postcards, the building that has housed Lincoln and Roosevelt and a man who hid a second telephone in a closet – that building apparently needs a BILLION-DOLLAR ballroom.
A billion. With a B.
Somewhere in America on Saturday morning, a regular person drove to Lowe’s in sweatpants to buy $34 worth of grout. They stood in the tile aisle for forty-five minutes arguing with themselves about whether the beige was too yellow. They ate a hot dog from the rotating case that had been spinning since the second term of the Obama administration.
That is how normal people renovate.
Donald Trump looked at the same problem and thought: one billion dollars, new ballroom, gold probably, chandelier situation, organ that plays "Hail to the Chief" when I walk in holding a cheeseburger.
They told us it was privately funded. That was the pitch. "Taxpayers won't pay a dime." They announced it with the confidence of a man who has never once paid for something himself. And now they are twisting Republican arms to vote for it like it is the D-Day landing instead of a taxpayer-funded prom palace for people who apparently clap too loudly at Mar-a-Lago fundraisers.
Twenty percent of the billion is for security upgrades, they say.
Twenty percent.
Do the math. Eighty cents of every dollar is going somewhere other than security.
Um. That’s $800 million if your calculator is not by your side.
Republicans are correctly terrified. The campaign ads write themselves before anyone even sits down.
"Congressman So-and-So voted to cut your Medicaid, Medicare, healthcare, and SNAP food benefits but found a billion dollars for Trump's dance floor." That ad plays in every swing district between now and the end of time. It plays on a loop. It plays at the man's retirement party.
This part would be funny if it were not also the second story.
The same week Trump was demanding a billion taxpayer dollars for chandelier space, he listened to Governor Gavin Newsom describe something that most people would recognize as "courage." Newsom talked about having dyslexia. He talked about the 960 SAT score. He talked about the work. Every page. Every paragraph. Every word earned the hard way.
Normal human response: respect.
Trump's response: racism accusation.
That is not a typo. Trump heard a man say, "I struggled and I kept going anyway" and his brain produced the output: this is an insult to Black Americans.
Try to find the logical steps required to arrive at that conclusion. You won’t find them. They’re absent.
This is the same man who wants a billion dollars for a ballroom. He cannot follow the argument that personal struggle is not an insult. But he can explain, at length, why the chandelier choices matter.
Dyslexia teaches patience, humility, and that the hard thing is worth doing because you have already proved to yourself, a hundred times over, before breakfast, that you can do the hard thing.
Three lessons. Trump would need a tutor for all three. He would fire the tutor on day two for making him feel inadequate. The tutor would not be surprised.
He mocks veterans. He mocks the disabled. He mocks anyone who admits out loud that they had to fight for something. A man who has never actually earned anything cannot process the concept of earning. It registers to him as a threat.
Sixth-grade bully. Now relishing his Presidential zip code.
Picture—if you will—a billion-dollar ballroom in the same building where this man makes these decisions. Picture the chandelier. Picture the self-playing organ. Picture the velvet.
Picture the kid—eight years old, nine years old—sitting at the kitchen table working through a single chapter while the President of the United States hosts a rally to explain that the kid's story is an insult to someone.
Picture the swing-district congressman who voted yes on the ballroom trying to explain that vote at a town hall in October.
Good luck with that.
A man demanded a billion dollars for a room where rich people can dance, while mocking a governor for having worked harder to read one book than most people work in a month. He did not notice the contradiction. He was not embarrassed by it. He announced it as two separate good ideas in the same news cycle.
That is not a political position.
That is not a governing philosophy.
That is a Rorschach test. He took it with a crayon.
Mocking someone's struggle is not strength.
Demanding a billion-dollar ballroom while people ration groceries (and gas!!!) is not leadership.
A man who cannot tell the difference has no business making decisions that affect either.

And that's the way this grandpa and political satirist sees it.
The GOP isn’t smarter than this 10-year-old.
Last week while taking our grandson to school, stuck in traffic, a news report about Trump came on the radio. My wife and I barely noticed it – until our grandson quietly said, “I don’t like Donald Trump.”
My wife turned and gently asked, “Why, honey?”
Without even looking up from his tablet, he said:
“Because he’s not kind to people.”
That’s it. That’s the whole thing.
A 10-year-old understood in one sentence what an entire political party keeps pretending not to see.
THIS ISN'T ELECTION SECURITY – IT'S VOTER SUPPRESSION WITH A DRESS CODE
Folks, let's stop pretending this is about protecting democracy.
Trump's top legislative obsession is called the SAVE America Act.
Sounds heroic, doesn't it? Of course it does. They always do.
You don't call it the "Let's Turn Voting Into A DMV Appointment That Requires Documents You Lost In The Move" Act.
No, no – you wrap it in a flag, slap a bald eagle on the press release, and pray nobody reads past the title.
Somebody read past the title.
Here's what the SAVE America Act actually requires to cast a ballot.
Documented proof of citizenship to register.
Government-issued ID to vote.
Restricted mail-in access.
And if you can't produce the paperwork?
BETTER LUCK NEXT DEMOCRACY.
Translation: make voting just hard enough that working families, seniors, college students, and anyone who has ever moved, lost a wallet, or simply doesn't keep their birth certificate in a waterproof safe – looks at the process and says: "FORGET IT."
And THAT is the point.
That has always been the point.
Because here's the thing nobody in a pressed suit on cable news will say out loud:
VOTER SUPPRESSION ISN'T A FLUKE – IT'S THE FEATURE OF THIS PRESIDENT.
We live in a country where actual documented voter fraud is rarer than a bipartisan standing ovation, yet suddenly we need a notarized paper trail just to do the one thing a democracy literally requires of its citizens.
That's not election security. That's a VELVET ROPE OUTSIDE THE POLLING BOOTH – and the bouncer has very specific ideas about the guest list.
Now here's the part where the sarcasm takes a coffee break, because this is the part that matters.
If Democrats ever take back power?
Investigations happen.
Subpoenas land.
Receipts come out.
And suddenly this isn't about elections at all – it's about something much more personal.
It's about ACCOUNTABILITY.
And accountability, it turns out, is the one thing this crowd fears more than a fair election.
So ask yourself the only question that matters here.
If voter fraud is genuinely minuscule – and it is – if elections are already secure – and they are – then who, exactly, is this law protecting?
Because it sure as hell is not protecting the voter.
If a company changed its hiring process to require documents that only certain applicants could easily produce – and fraud in the old process was statistically nonexistent – would "we just want it to be fair" survive thirty seconds in a courtroom?
Of course not. The settlement would be announced before the ink dried.
But this is the United States Congress. So we get a patriotic acronym and a vote along party lines.
That's not security. That's POWER MAINTAINING ITSELF WITH A PERMISSION SLIP.
Voting is not a privilege to be rationed.
Democracy is not a document you earn.
And a law that makes it harder to vote – while fraud is virtually nonexistent – is not election security.
It is a LOCKED DOOR. And they built it on purpose.

HE'S NOT WATCHING BASEBALL – HE'S SHOPPING FOR COUNTRIES
You and I watch a baseball game, we grab a hot dog at the seventh-inning stretch, we complain about the bullpen.
This guy?
He watched Venezuela win a game and decided – right there, peanuts in hand — "You know what would go great with Cracker Jack? A WHOLE NEW COUNTRY."
Statehood. Number 51. Just like that. Add it to the cart.
We have officially entered the era of GEOPOLITICS BY SNACK BREAK.
Let's walk through what just happened.
Venezuela wins a World Baseball Classic game.
Normal human reaction: "Hey, good for them."
Trump's reaction: "WE SHOULD OWN IT."
Not partner with it.
Not trade with it.
Not send a diplomat.
SEND AN INVOICE.
Because nothing says "stable global leadership" like treating sovereign nations like clearance items on a 3 a.m. shopping channel – blurry lighting, aggressive host, operators standing by.
Now let's not pretend this is about baseball.
It's not about admiration.
It's not about goodwill.
It is about one thing.
OIL.
ALWAYS.
THE.
OIL.
Venezuela sits on the largest proven oil reserves on the planet. What a coincidence. Truly stunning. A miracle of geography that has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
We've gone from foreign policy to what I can only describe as DRILL, BABY, ANNEX.
A foreign policy doctrine where you see a country, you want a country, and the only thing standing between you and that country is the inconvenient existence of its 30 million residents.
That's not strategy.
That's a man treating the globe like a MONOPOLY BOARD WHERE HE FORGOT THE OTHER PLAYERS GET TURNS.
And here's the part that should make your coffee go cold.
This isn't just bluster.
This follows actual military escalation.
This follows real action abroad.
This follows a pattern of treating international borders like speed bumps.
If your neighbor watched your kid's Little League game and announced he'd be annexing your house by September – would "he's just passionate about real estate" be a reasonable explanation?
Of course not. You'd be calling the police and the HOA simultaneously.
But this is the President of the United States. So instead we get a press release and a flag graphic.
That's not leadership. That's LATE-STAGE EMPIRE COSPLAY WITH A GIFT SHOP.
Say it with me, folks:
Buying countries is not foreign policy.
Annexing neighbors is not strength.
And a man who shops for nations during a baseball game is not a “stable genius” world leader – he is a WARNING.

TRUMP STARTED A WAR WITH IRAN.
NOW HE’S ASKING CHINA TO HELP FIX IT.
With the Strait of Hormuz shut and oil shipments stalled, the conflict Trump launched is now dragging global powers into the crisis.
Let me explain what’s happening here in plain English, because the official explanation coming out of Washington as to the Iranian “excursion” sounds like it was written by a blender full of talking points.
Two weeks ago Donald Trump launched a war with Iran.
He said it would be quick.
He said the Iranian military would collapse.
He said victory was practically guaranteed.
Fast forward to today.
The Strait of Hormuz — the most important oil shipping lane on Earth — is shut down.
About 20 percent of the world’s oil normally passes through that narrow stretch of water.
Right now?
Nothing is moving.
Tankers are stalled.
Roughly a thousand cargo ships are waiting.
Oil prices are exploding.
And suddenly the same man who bragged he could handle the whole thing is looking around the room, asking:
“Uh… anybody want to help?”
Enter China.
Trump is now demanding that Beijing help reopen the Strait before his planned summit with President Xi Jinping.
Let me translate that diplomatic language.
Trump started a war.
Now he wants China to fix the traffic jam.
Here’s the awkward part.
China happens to be one of Iran’s biggest oil customers.
And China has absolutely zero incentive to jump in and rescue what many governments see as Trump’s war of choice.
Meanwhile Russia has also criticized the strikes and is quietly aligning itself against Washington’s position.
Europe?
Europe has largely stepped back and is watching the situation unfold.
Which is what happens when you spend years insulting allies, threatening NATO, and acting like diplomacy is a wrestling match.
Eventually the people you mocked stop showing up or even answering your calls.
So now we have the strangest spectacle in modern foreign policy.
The same president who bragged that he alone could fix everything is suddenly begging the world to help clean up the mess. His mess!
And the world is responding with the geopolitical equivalent of:
“Take a hike, Donald.”
This is what happens when foreign policy is run like a casino table.
You keep doubling down.
You keep insisting the next move will save everything.
Until suddenly the entire table realizes the house is on fire.

WHEN A PRESIDENT STARTS THREATENING TV STATIONS DURING A WAR, YOU KNOW THE TRUTH ISN’T GOING HIS WAY
When a President starts trying to silence the news during a war, it usually means the war is not going the way he claims.
Donald Trump says he’s winning.
He says Iran’s navy is crippled.
He says their leadership is gone.
He says the threat is finished.
And yet the Strait of Hormuz — the most important oil passage on Earth — is still closed.
Which means something very simple.
The war Trump claims is “over” is clearly not over.
Oil tankers are stalled.
Global energy markets are choking.
The world is sitting on the sidelines waiting for this disaster to play out.
And now, suddenly, the White House wants television networks to stop reporting inconvenient facts.
Enter FCC Chairman Brendan Carr — what I call “the bully with a briefcase.”
His message to broadcasters was simple:
Report the war the way Trump likes it…
or your license might mysteriously have “problems.”
Now let’s translate that into plain English:
The government is hinting that if journalists don’t repeat the official story, they could lose their right to broadcast.
That’s not democracy.
That’s what happens in countries where leaders hold press conferences and firing squads in the same building.
And here’s the part that should concern every American.
These threats are not about correcting “fake news.”
They’re about hiding the truth.
Because the truth is messy.
The Strait of Hormuz is closed.
Oil is stuck.
The world’s economies are watching nervously.
And the allies Trump insulted for years are now politely sitting back saying: “Good luck with that.”
Funny how that works.
You spend years mocking NATO, insulting world leaders, cozying up to dictators…Then suddenly you need help with the war YOU started.
And nobody shows up.
Now Trump wants the press to help him sell the illusion of victory.
Sorry.
This country doesn’t work that way.
The Constitution begins with three powerful words:
WE THE PEOPLE.
Not WE THE PROPAGANDA.
And no FCC bureaucrat with a clipboard is going to bully the truth off the air.
…
If you believe in a free press, help make some noise. Share the truth so others can see how this administration is trying to muzzle the media and hide what’s really happening in Trump’s War in Iran.

KIDS ARE THE REAL CASUALTIES OF TRUMP'S WAR
When bombs fall, the people who pay the price are not presidents.
They are not generals. They are not the politicians screaming about strength from a stage.
They are children.
According to UNICEF, more than 1,100 children across the Middle East have already been killed or wounded since Trump and Israel launched their war with Iran.
Kids. Students. Little human beings who had zero votes in the decisions being made over their heads.
One strike hit a girls' school in Iran.
Not a military base.
Not a weapons depot.
A classroom.
This war costs roughly one billion dollars a day.
EVERY SINGLE FREAKING DAY.
That same billion dollars could cover food assistance for 41 million Americans. It could protect health care for 16 million people.
Instead, it is being spent on missiles – while one in seven American households cannot put food on the table.
And while the bombs fall abroad, 52 million children across the region are now out of school. Classrooms turned to rubble. Futures interrupted. Not for a week. Not for a semester. For a generation.
The men who ordered this call it strength. They call it security.
The scoreboard tells a different story.
Children dead.
Children displaced.
Children hungry – on both sides of the ocean.
I’m a grandfather and my heart bleeds for all of the kids caught in this political crossfire.
And, as I watch Trump’s War unfold, I can’t call it strategy.
It is a tantrum with missiles attached. And the children of the world are the ones paying the bill – without ever being asked.
Not one dollar of it was approved by Congress. Not one vote was cast to authorize this.
That is not leadership. That is not strength.
It is what happens when a man with power has never been asked to account for the cost of using it.
---
If this made you angry, that anger is worth something – share this so the people who need to see it do. The children caught in this cannot speak for themselves, but we can.

THE CAGED PRESIDENT
Trump bombed Iran.
He expected what every authoritarian fantasy promises: the enemy collapses, surrenders, and thanks you for the privilege after handing you the keys to their kingdom and complete access to their oil reserves.
Instead, Iran said HELL NO.
So, he got on social media in the middle of the night and told the world he was "totally destroying" them. That their leaders were all being "killed." That surrender was hours away.
Iran's leadership appeared on state television the next morning.
Three words: Nope. Not surrendering.
Because Iran does not fight wars the way a man who has never lost anything imagines wars are fought.
They absorb the first punch.
Then they swing back.
They threatened the Strait of Hormuz – the narrow channel through which one-fifth of the world's oil moves every single day.
The result:
Tankers burned.
Shipping slowed.
Oil climbed past $100 a barrel.
And Vladimir Putin – who sells oil – quietly cashed the check.
Americans will pay more at the pump.
More for groceries.
More for everything.
Because when oil spikes, inflation rides with it.
A former Trump homeland security aide described what is happening inside the administration:
Not four-dimensional chess.
Not even checkers.
More like coin-flipping with nuclear weapons.
This is not an isolated crisis. It is a Trump pattern.
Military assets off the coast of Venezuela. Big talk. Then – nothing.
The spotlight then moved on to his next chaotic bruhaha: Iran.
Bombs drop.
Americans dead.
Children dead.
Boeing KC-135 tanker crashed, 4 dead.
A man who leads this way is not strong. He is a man pacing inside a cage while the rest of the world is standing outside, watching, wondering how much damage one animal can do before someone closes the zoo.
Because in case you haven’t noticed, his cage no longer has restraining bars.

AN OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR GAVIN NEWSOM
SUBJECT: WHEN THE PRESIDENT ACTS LIKE THE WORLD'S OLDEST SCHOOLYARD BULLY
Governor Newsom,
Let me begin with a sentence I never thought I would write about a sitting President.
The most powerful man on Earth stood on a stage and mocked someone for having dyslexia.
Yes. Dyslexia.
A learning disability that affects millions of Americans – millions of children sitting at kitchen tables right now, fighting through a page of words that refuse to cooperate.
That is what he chose to mock.
You said you struggled in school. You said you scored a 960 on your SATs. You said dyslexia made every page harder than it should have been – and that you worked through it anyway.
To most people, that story is called perseverance.
To Donald Trump, it was a target.
He didn't stop there. He twisted your admission of struggle into a racial accusation – a logical leap so contorted it would cause a pretzel to sprain something.
You didn't insult anyone. You didn't belittle anyone. You said you struggled and kept going.
That is called resilience.
Resilience is not something Donald Trump understands. Because Trump cannot feel tall unless he is standing on someone else’s neck.
He mocks veterans.
He mocks people with disabilities.
He mocks anyone who admits imperfection.
It is not politics. It is playground behavior with a podium.
I want to tell you something personal.
I have a young relative who is dyslexic.
Watching him learn to read has been one of the most humbling things I have witnessed. Every page is work. Every paragraph is effort. Every word costs him something that costs most people nothing.
And yet – something remarkable happens with kids who struggle like that.
They develop empathy. They notice other people's pain. They learn patience in ways the rest of us never have to.
In other words, they develop everything the current President of the United States seems incapable of.
Trump's attack on you was not an isolated moment.
It fits a pattern.
This is the same man whose war left more than 150 young girls dead.
Children.
Students.
Kids who woke up expecting a normal school day.
A Pentagon report confirmed what many already suspected: a U.S. bombing strike hit a girls' school in Iran.
That is the human cost of leadership that treats everything – diplomacy, war, disability, empathy – like props in a television show.
Cruelty in a rally.
Cruelty on a map.
The same instinct.
Only the scale changes.
Trump thinks cruelty is strength.
It is not.
Cruelty is easy. It requires no character, no discipline, no compassion. Anyone can mock someone else. It is the cheapest move in politics.
Real strength is admitting you struggled.
Real strength is saying you were not perfect and kept going anyway.
Real strength is empathy.
Which is exactly why he does not understand it.
Governor Newsom, I am sorry that a personal challenge from your childhood was dragged through the mud by a man who treats vulnerability as a character flaw.
When he mocked your struggle, he was not just insulting you.
He was insulting every kid who has ever stared at a page and had to fight for what the rest of the room gets for free.
Those families know what courage looks like.
It does not look like him.
If you run for President, you will have my vote.
You will have my help.
Because this country needs leaders who know the difference between strength and cruelty.
And Governor – you know the difference.
All the best,

And that's the way this grandpa and political satirist sees it.
TRUMP RUNS FOREIGN POLICY LIKE A DRUNK GUY THROWING DARTS AT A MAP BLINDFOLDED.
THE DIFFERENCE IS: EVERY TIME A DART LANDS, YOUR GROCERY BILL GOES UP AND HIS BANK ACCOUNT DOES TOO.
Call it what it is. A major cash grab of our money. Or as JFK’s sole grandson, Jack Schlossberg, puts it: “We’re getting screwed, and he’s getting rich.”
WE GET SCREWED, HE GETS RICH.
Not by a doctrine.
Not by a strategy.
Not even by a coherent thought.
It's a SPIN-THE-GLOBE PROFIT MACHINE with a Commander-in-Chief pulling the lever.
Every target. Every crisis. Every "decisive action."
The rhetorical justification changes. The commodity underneath never does: oil.
But here's the part that should make every American carefully study their grocery receipts.
When Trump launched the Iran war, oil blasted past $100 a barrel inside of a week.
Which means gasoline rises.
Which means fertilizer rises.
Which means food rises.
Which means food distribution trucks’ diesel fuel skyrockets.
Which means everything – every plane ticket, every mortgage rate, every box of cereal – gets more expensive.
Economists already have a name for it: a "geopolitics tax."
You didn't vote for that tax. You didn't approve it. Nobody held a press conference to explain it.
It just showed up in your wallet like an uninvited houseguest who also emptied your refrigerator (and bank account!).
That's not foreign policy. That's a COST-OF-LIVING HEIST dressed in camouflage.
Now here's the part that turns this from outrageous into something considerably darker.
While Americans watch their paychecks evaporate at the pump and the checkout line – Trump's family and business network have reportedly raked in roughly $4 billion since his return to power.
$4 BILLION.
Crypto schemes. Business ventures. Influence-adjacent arrangements that somehow keep producing money every time there's a crisis.
Funny how crises keep finding this particular president.
Say it in plain English so nobody confuses it for coincidence:
AMERICANS GET THE INFLATED PRICES; TRUMP GETS THE PROFITS.
If any ordinary citizen launched a series of economic disruptions that reliably bolstered their personal fortune while destroying their neighbors' purchasing power – we'd have a word for that: GRIFT.
A sitting president does it from the Oval Office and the financial press calls it "volatility."
TRUM WAR FOR THEM. BILLS FOR US. THAT'S NOT GEOPOLITICS – THAT'S A RACKET.
If the targets are about security, show the intelligence – declassified, verified, credible.
If the profits are coincidental, open the books – all of them, now, without redactions.
If neither answer comes – and, you and I know, none will – then the American taxpayer isn't funding a foreign policy.
They're funding Trump’s business model.
...
Make some noise.
Please repost this so the people still calling it 'leadership' have to explain the increasing grocery bill, the $4 billion, and the dartboard. All at once."

And that's the way this grandpa and political satirist sees it.
HE BRAGGED, "NO OTHER PRESIDENT CAN DO WHAT I'M DOING." HE'S RIGHT.
NO OTHER PRESIDENT STARTED A WAR ON IMPULSE, BOMBED A SCHOOL FULL OF LITTLE GIRLS, AND THEN CALLED IT STRENGTH.
I need you to read this.
Over 100 elementary school girls were killed when a U.S. Tomahawk missile struck their school during the Iran bombing campaign.
They were attending class.
That's it. That's the whole crime.
Not soldiers. Not weapons depots. Not military infrastructure.
Little girls.
With parents.
With cousins.
With brothers and friends and whole futures.
Now they have funerals.
And while families across Iran buried their daughters, the President of the United States stood before Republican lawmakers and announced, with visible pride:
"No other president can do some of the sh*t I'm doing."
Let that sink in.
That's not leadership talking. That's a MAN WHO CONFUSED THE PRESIDENCY WITH A PERSONAL WEAPONS DEMONSTRATION.
Here's what he told us before the bombs fell.
Iran was an imminent threat.
In reality, intelligence analysts said Iran was years from a nuclear weapon.
He promised to end forever wars.
He started one before the ink dried on the promise.
That's not a foreign policy doctrine. That's a CAMPAIGN PROMISE GRAVEYARD with a runway and a flight crew.
Now Trump warns Iran: if it touches shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. will hit them "twenty times harder."
Twenty times harder than what, exactly?
Bomb the rubble “twenty times harder”?
Or, re-bomb the school “twenty times harder”?
Here's what a man with a hammer and no blueprint cannot understand.
You can re-bomb buildings.
You cannot re-bomb hatred.
Every bomb dropped without a strategy plants a seed of rage that takes a generation to harvest.
That's not theory. That's every foreign policy catastrophe in American history dressed up in a new zip code.
Here's the question no one at the podium wants to answer:
If any other commander-in-chief had launched a war without clear objectives, destroyed a school full of children, and then bragged about his own unprecedented power – would we call that leadership?
Of course not.
We'd call it what it is.
Say it out loud until it echoes off every marble wall in Washington:
STARTING A WAR IS EASY. LIVING WITH THE CONSEQUENCES IS WHAT LASTS FOR GENERATIONS.
History doesn't record these moments as strength.
It records them as the beginning of disasters.
And the children buried in Iran will be in that history whether Trump's name is in the headlines or not.
If you hear Trump brag that no other president would do what he's doing and think that's a feature — stop.
That's a roadmap.
He's telling you exactly what the rest of his presidency looks like.
More wars.
More impunity.
More rubble.
The 2026 midterms are the last clean shot Americans have at accountability before 'what no other president would do' becomes the permanent American playbook or what's left of it.
Please repost this. Don't scroll by and bury what happened to those little girls.

And that's the way this grandpa and political satirist sees it.
TRUMP'S POLLS ARE COLLAPSING. HIS WAR IS BLEEDING THE TREASURY.
AND NOW HE’S THREATENING TO SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT UNTIL CONGRESS LETS HIM REWRITE WHO GETS TO VOTE.
Donald Trump is refusing to sign any legislation – not infrastructure, not homeland security funding, not anything resembling governance – until Congress passes something called the SAVE America Act.
Cute name.
Here's what it actually does:
Requires documents most Americans don't have to vote.
Flags every voter roll through an immigration database already PROVEN to misidentify citizens.
Threatens election officials with criminal penalties for registration errors.
Millions of married women? Their birth certificates won't match their IDs.
That's not election security. That's a VOTER SUBTRACTION PROGRAM dressed up in patriotic font.
Now let's talk about the timing – because the timing is doing all the confessing.
Trump's approval numbers are cratering. His Iran war is draining the treasury and terrifying voters.
Gas prices are skyrocketing.
Democrats are leading the generic congressional ballot. The House is slipping. Maybe the Senate too.
And when a politician realizes voters are about to fire him, he reaches for the oldest trick in the authoritarian handbook:
If you can't win the voters, eliminate their votes.
Here's the part that should make every American put down their coffee.
Illegal voting in federal elections is already illegal. Documented fraud cases? Vanishingly rare. Pretty much at the same scale as Bigfoot sightings.
But suddenly – right before a midterm – the country needs sweeping new restrictions.
That's not leadership. That's a MOB-BOSS PROTECTION RACKET aimed at the ballot box.
"Nice little democracy you got there. Shame if something happened to it."
Say it so nobody mistakes it for anything else:
THIS ISN'T ELECTION REFORM. IT'S TRUMP TRYING TO STEAL THE NEXT ELECTION BEFORE THE VOTES ARE CAST.
When you can't win the vote, you rig the rules.
When you rig the rules, you don't get to call it democracy.
When you don't call it democracy – that's because it isn't anymore.
…
If you believe elections should be decided by voters and not by whoever controls the ballot application form, please repost/share this. The 2026 midterms are closer than people think, and silence right now is exactly what this strategy is counting on.

And that's the way this grandpa and political satirist sees it.
It's not satire. IT WAS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. As a matter of fact, this prison in Dub;in, CA was closed fowing a massive scandal involving sexual abuse by staff and was formally shut down by the Bureau of Prisons. (The DHS did tour the prison some months ago to reopen it as an immigrant detention center. DHS decided to not go further with this in early 2026.)
WOMEN REPORTED SEXUAL ABUSE INSIDE A FEDERAL PRISON. ICE WAS WAITING AT THE EXIT WITH CHAINS.
A federal women's prison in Dublin, California earned itself a nickname so vile I need a second to type it.
"The rape club."
That's what inmates called it. Not critics. Not journalists. The women locked inside it.
Women were sexually assaulted by staff. They reported it. They cooperated with investigators. They did everything the system told them to do.
And when they finished their sentences and walked out the front door?
ICE agents were waiting
Not counselors.
Not victim advocates.
Chains.
Straight to an immigration detention center. Now facing deportation.
That's not a clerical error. That's INSTITUTIONAL RETALIATION WITH A GOVERNMENT BADGE – and it has a body count of dozens.
Take Cristal.
She endured the abuse. She survived the retaliation inside. She cooperated with law enforcement. Federal law even has a specific visa – a U visa – designed to protect exactly this kind of survivor.
The Trump administration looked at all of that and said: pack your bags.
For years, immigration authorities exercised discretion in cases like these. Survivors cooperating with law enforcement weren't thrown into deportation proceedings. That protection evaporated faster than honesty at a Trump campaign rally.
Here's the double standard that should keep every American awake tonight.
If a white suburban woman reported sexual assault and the government responded by having her arrested at the hospital door and shipped out of state – would anyone call that justice?
Of course not.
There would be congressional hearings before lunch.
An immigrant woman reports the same crime inside a federal facility and the government's response is a zip tie and a one-way ticket.
Say it until it echoes through every courtroom in America:
WHEN VICTIMS ARE PUNISHED FOR SPEAKING, THE SYSTEM ISN'T BROKEN. SADLY, IT'S WORKING EXACTLY AS INTENDED.
...
If you believe survivors deserve protection – not deportation – please repost this. The women at Dublin reported what happened because they trusted the system. The least we can do is make some noise.

And that's the way this grandpa and political satirist sees it.
ONE WEEK INTO TRUMP'S WAR IN IRAN AND NOBODY IN THE WHITE HOUSE CAN EXPLAIN WHY THE HELL WE STARTED IT. NOT ONE PERSON. NOT ONE ANSWER.
A quick accounting.
Seven days of bombing Iran.
Six American soldiers dead.
More than a hundred schoolgirls killed when strikes hit near their elementary school.
Trump's explanation for all of it: "Some people will die."
That's not a strategy. That's a SHRUG IN A FLIGHT SUIT.
He signed off on something called Operation Epic Fury – which sounds less like a military doctrine and more like a rejected Fast & Furious sequel – while flying to Texas on Air Force One to give a speech about energy dominance.
In between cruising altitude and landing, he started a war.
Now ask ten members of his administration why we're fighting it. You'll get twelve different answers.
One official says it's about destroying Iran's missiles. Another says it's regime change. Trump himself says it'll be over in a few days. Then five weeks. Then "whatever it takes."
That's not policy. That's TRUMP'S WAR BY VIBES – and the Middle East is paying the cover charge.
Here's what makes the stomach drop.
This is the same man who ran for president wearing a sandwich board that read "No More Stupid Wars." The MAGA crowd cheered like they'd discovered free beer.
Fast-forward to now: Iran is retaliating. Oil through the Strait of Hormuz is threatened. Gas prices are climbing. Hezbollah is back in the fight.
And while Iran burns, U.S. forces are simultaneously running operations in Ecuador.
ECUADOR?
YES, ECUADOR!
Before that, Venezuela. The resource map keeps showing up: oil, ports, strategic routes – every time wrapped in the same rhetoric of "drugs, security, terrorists, decisive action."
That's not a foreign policy doctrine. That's BOMB FIRST, ASK THE MAP LATER – backed by aircraft carriers and absolutely zero exit strategy.
The American people remember Iraq.
They remember Afghanistan.
Twenty years.
Trillions of dollars.
Thousands of lives.
And the guy who promised to end forever wars just ordered a new one from thirty thousand feet up.
SCREAM it so the whole country hears it:
THIS IS TRUMP'S WAR OF CHOICE – AND NOBODY CAN TELL YOU WHAT THE ENDGAME IS.
...
If you're tired of being handed a war nobody can explain, please repost/share this – because silence right now is the most expensive thing in America.

And that's the way this grandpa and political satirist sees it.
MUST WATCH: Trump supporter flips out as he sees gas prices, proceeds to rip Trump sticker off of his vehicle and curse out the administration.
“How the f-ck can we take America back when these c-ck suckers don’t even support us?”
This isn’t an antidote. This is happening in towns, large and small across America. Trump screwed his own base.
NEXT UP: CUBA?
IT WAS NEVER ABOUT DEMOCRACY. IT WAS NEVER ABOUT FREEDOM. IT'S ABOUT WHO CONTROLS THE ECONOMY.
Folks, there's one sentence buried inside the current Cuba policy discussion that deserves to be read by each one of us.
Trump reportedly doesn't care what kind of government another country has – as long as the economic relationship works in America's…his…favor.
Communist? Fine.
Authoritarian? No problem.
Democratic? Sure, if the numbers work.
Monarchy? Pull up a chair.
That's not a values-based foreign policy.
That's GEOPOLITICAL DEAL-MAKING BACKED BY A RED-TIED COMMANDER WITH AIRCRAFT CARRIERS LOADED WITH BOMBS.
Cuba just became the latest item on the invoice.
Because Cuba's government hasn't changed. Its politics haven't changed. What changed is that the Trump Administration decided it was time to squeeze.
Sanctions tightened.
Fuel shipments choked.
Energy reserves draining.
Population suffering.
Not because Cuba is a democracy threat to the United States. But because the deal isn't done yet.
And when the deal isn't done – Iran, Venezuela, Cuba – the military starts showing up in the neighborhood.
Here's the double standard that somehow nobody says at the podium.
Saudi Arabia's government executes journalists with bone saws. The economic relationship works fine. No warships. No "just a question of time." A nice arms deal, actually.
That's not a security doctrine. That's a LOYALTY PROGRAM FOR COMPLIANT ECONOMIES – and the punishment tier is called foreign policy.
THIS ISN'T A CRUSADE FOR DEMOCRACY. IT'S A MOB’S COLLECTION CALL WITH OBLITERATING
ORDINANCE.
If the mission is freedom, explain Saudi Arabia.
If the mission is security, explain why the target list perfectly tracks with economic leverage gaps.
If it's neither – and, to me, it is neither – then the American people deserve a straight answer about what their military is actually being used to collect.
If this made you angry enough to say something — good. Please repost or share.

And that's the way this grandpa and political satirist sees it.
US COMMANDERS: TRUMP HAS BEEN ANOINTED BY JESUS TO TRIGGER ARMAGEDDON.
More than 100 active U.S. service members — real people, real uniforms, real legal exposure — filed formal complaints. According to the HuffPost, their commanders are telling them the bombing of Iran is part of God's divine plan.
Not as a metaphor.
Not as a morale booster.
As a DOCTRINAL COMBAT JUSTIFICATION delivered to people who cannot refuse without facing insubordination charges.
Read that sentence again.
Slowly.
The United States military, the institution sworn to defend the Constitution, is apparently moonlighting as an end-times prophecy distribution service also known as the “Armageddon” Press.
Now let's test this "chosen by God" theory with the source material.
"Thou shalt not kill." Civilians dead across Iran, Ukraine, and Venezuela under conflicts this administration launched, escalated, or enthusiastically cheered from the sidelines.
"Thou shalt not steal." Financial scandals, grifts, civil fraud verdicts, and hush-money settlements too numerous to alphabetize before your toast gets cold.
"Thou shalt not bear false witness." The man has triggered more fact-checker alerts than a malfunctioning smoke detector at a campfire convention.
"Thou shalt not commit adultery." He treats the Seventh Commandment like a suggested retail price—honored occasionally, ignored whenever inconvenient.
Four commandments.
Zero compliance.
But THIS is the Lord's personally appointed Armageddon project manager.
That's not divine selection.
That's a RESUME FABRICATED TO MAKE SOLDIERS STOP ASKING LEGAL QUESTIONS.
Here is the specific machinery of the crime:
1. A troop receives a combat order.
2. The commanding officer informs them the order originates from God's plan for the end of days.
3. The troop legally cannot refuse without risking court-martial.
That's not a sermon. That's spiritual blackmail in a uniform.
If a high school football coach’s pregame pep talk included "God personally wants us to blitz on third down," the school board would convene an emergency meeting before halftime.
A commanding officer attaches end-times prophecy to a justification of a bombing campaign and keeps his security clearance?
Of course not.
Relieve them.
Today.
Not after a six-month review.
Not pending investigation.
TODAY.
The U.S. military is not a traveling megachurch with a cruise missile ministry.
Please say it with me:
THE MILITARY DEFENDS THE CONSTITUTION — NOT SOME COMMANDER'S APOCALYPSE HOBBY.
If this is genuine faith, produce the constitutional authority that makes it legal.
If this is legitimate strategy, publish the legal justification and sign your name to it.
If it is neither — and it is neither — those commanders need to be relieved before the next briefing, the next deployment, and the next soldier who can't say no.
If this made you feel something, good. That means you're paying attention.
Please repost this so the people still sleepwalking through the Trump presidency
have a chance to wake up.
