Like many millions of people my age, I have for over four decades paid PAYE, council tax,
vehicle/road tax, stamp duty, VAT on my purchases, NHS contribution and the mandatory state pension contributions

I've also paid capital gains tax, corporation tax, tax on business profits and many other contributions to allow our government, of whichever persuasion to distribute those funds in a meaningful manner to benefit the society I am part of.

I do not use public transport, libraries, schools, an NHS dentist, I've never used a hospital, taken any benefits, kept my working hours low so that I could.
Thankfully I have not needed the police, and I contributed to my elderly father's needs without using the state, I also paid for his funeral and my elderly aunt's funeral.

So forgive me if I seemed exasperated when I see young people who have been educated Into their mid 20s, lived from family donations, gone into soft jobs, like journalism, the media, the arts, and then have the audacity to complain about elderly care and what a drain boomers have on society.

We are the generation that didn't blow our disposable income on stag nights and parties lasting 4 days in Europe, adorn our bodies in expensive tattoos , go on the lash every weekend, using taxis between pubs use take aways multiple times in a week, spend money they don't have on film star level beauty treatments, gym memberships, clothes they can't afford whilst then coming cap in hand for Nana to cough up for a deposit on a house and expert her to organize and pay for her own funeral

You haven't lived long enough or contributed long enough to even understand how our of touch and unreasonable your claims about the elderly actually are.
