A profound, inspirational moment in my life was working for this man. Hopefully, future Presidents return to his caliber. I will miss his unceasing, unyielding, yet understanding articulation of what a better America could be. Care, give, and be a genuine listener
Two months in San Juan went too quickly! We developed emergency relief plans, a hydroponic garden in a food desert, a rainwater catchment system, and worked with 3 rescued schools (article soon). Truly makes me proud of the last two months. Here is the crew.
Really excited to share our new article on Panama's Diablos Rojos- old American school busses that Panamanians converted into arte rodante ("rolling art")! We outline the history and the competing visions for a city’s future. The perfect weekend read! https://t.co/eU6caYgPg4
Awesome to see @KamalaHarris at a rescued school and our local partner. I shared the work of WPI and our Puerto Rico Project Center– where we emphasize climate resilience and community development with orgs like La Goyco. More infrastructure spending for a safer, green future! 🇵🇷
Latin America is in the grips of a dry spell, @GrantBurrier writes. For the world’s most water-rich region, that means a new era of uncertainty, with alarming social, economic and environmental consequences.

Parabéns Peter Klein for completing a great new book on Brazil's Belo Monte dam! I highly recommend it and I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing it for NACLA! https://t.co/vNkNDMIi46
In Celebration of Indigenous Peoples' Day, I traveled with a group of WPI students up the Chagres River to the Emberá community of Purubiakirú.

More data confirming what we felt this year. Comparatively, it wasn't that bad. Two-thirds of people who suffer from the increasing number of heat-stress days live in countries where annual incomes are below $2,000 and cannot afford air-conditioning. They don't get the luxury!
Check out a new piece I penned for
@GlobalAmericans on the murder of journalist Dom Phillips and Brazilian expert on indigenous people, Bruno Pereira. There is an increasing nexus between land conflict, environmental crimes, and indigenous territories. #brazil#Amazon
"There is plenty of room for the international community to offer logistical support in the battle against transnational criminal networks. But these strategies only work if the Brazilian government wills it,” writes @GrantBurrier for Global Americans.

Miami is my second home and North Beach es mi barrio. This jewel of MiMo cannot be leveled for another faceless glass skyscraper. A city that cannot respect history and heritage will never have roots. https://t.co/0oTkR9eMTB
