@BreeSolstad Yeah. Not a fan of the show. Too much American Jesus for me (no offense intended to my southern neighbours). Yup, the four canonical Gospels and the Apostolic Tradition to understand them is good, although I would suggest the Psalms are an excellent way of getting to know Jesus.
@BreeSolstad It is *inhuman* to sin! Sin is utterly inhuman; the product of proud angels. It is what robs us of our humanity, which is the very image and likeness of God. We donโt have to sin! To be fully human is to be without sin, and it is possible by the grace of God.
@goinggodward Given that Jesus derived 100% of his cells from Mary, any sort of microchimerism would be difficult to detect; their DNA would be practically identical.
@BreeSolstad Not likely. The medium just lends itself to that sort of conflict. Men have used words, rhetoric, backstabbery, and insults for centuries in the social arenas of medieval and renaissance courts, salons, halls, etc.
@BreeSolstad In politics the Son of Man has no where to rest His head. Praying for my southerly neighbours during this year. Stay true to the gospel. Seek that the works of mercy, corporal and spiritual, be effected in your society.
@BreeSolstad It has to do with their understanding of โhowโ Jesus is God. If they deny the hypostatic union, as Nestorius did, then Mary just becomes the mother of Jesusโ humanity, not his divinity.
St. John Henry Newman was right that there is a need to be steeped in history.
@ArtIsANeed@BreeSolstad Where do you see idolatry in that video? Just because thereโs a 3D image of someone present doesnโt mean that the people are giving that object the adoration due to God alone. Raising up a picture of someone you hold in high esteem is not idolatrous, nor is praising their merits.
@BreeSolstad Often easier to forgive someone else than to forgive ourselves. The sacrament is so important. We hear another human being, with the authority of God Himself, say, โYour sins are forgiven.โ
Iโll recall the words of the priest when my past deeds creep back into my mind. It helps.
@BreeSolstad Sorry for your loss. I know that sort of pain. The solace the I take is that Jesus told us this would happen. Itโs the cross we bear when we choose to walk in his footsteps. Iโm hopeful in His ability to change the hearts of those we lose so that we can find them again. Be strong
@BreeSolstad Further to this, what anchors humanity to space-time (physical) is our bodies (physical). A disembodied spirit is not anchored to space-time. The limitations of distance and time are not encounter by the Church Triumphant; everywhere is here, everywhen is now for them.
@BreeSolstad When it comes to politics, the Son of Man has nowhere to rest His head. IMHO, look to the Works of Mercy, corporal and spiritual, and vote for the party whose policies and platform align the most. Also Rush rules applyโโif you choose not to decide, you still have made a choiceโ.
@c1aireify The great irony is that there are even small Bluetooth speakers that fit right in their ears and still let them listen to the music of their choice without the need for us to do so.
@jvipondmd@AntibioticDoc@jhengstler@SafeSchoolsBC No offence, but medical doctors are often given more credence than is their due by the average citizen. They have a narrow scope of expertise, and are not the only professional with knowledge about disease or biology. We should listen to all relevant experts.
@Sachinettiyil I think Dr. Peterson needs to read James 1:21-27. Social justice is being a doer of the Word that saves souls; it is true religion. Stewardship of creation is what humanity was created for, so he should read Genesis 1:26; 2:15 too.
