Breaking: Michigan Supreme Court votes 4-3 to overturn decades of precedent & open many industries to lawsuits under the state's consumer protection law. Critics had said old rulings gutted the 1976 law. Big win for prosecutors, trial lawyers. Big loss for business community.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sherman Lewis.

Lewis, a first-team All-American in 1963, served as an assistant coach at MSU before a decorated NFL coaching career that included four Super Bowl titles.

We send our deepest condolences to the Lewis family.
