Very good day at the office today. The Senate passed 3 critical bills. One to bring transparency in the Electricity sector and address high cost of power (sponsored by yours truly) 2. To strengthen oversight in counties by giving financial autonomy to County Assemblies. 3. To enable public institutions like schools get title deeds for land they occupy thereby reducing incidents of land grabbing.

Being Baba’s bodyguard is easily the toughest job in Kenyan politics. George Oduor did it with quiet grace and steadfast dedication. Back when I was new in mzee’s circles, I would never have got the hang of things were it not for George’s guidance. See, you can’t just “be around” Mzee. It’s very very complicated and I will always be grateful to George for holding my hand. May his soul rest in peace.
