My Graduation Exhibition! Yes, our beloved Sicilian dwarf elephant is back again.^v^
I love seeing the shocked expressions on tourists' faces when they find out that these little dwarf are actually adults.
And the fun part is that it takes 40 years for them to grow this big.
And these trees that I made specifically for this exhibition, which contain all the evolutionary relationships of the elephants that I made.
Similarly, we also show the skull proportions of different species with the same skull length.
These include two previously unknown species
@MesozoicDream Thank you! I think such an exhibition is valuable, but after all, I am a student and the exhibition time is limited; otherwise, the set would be more detailed and there would be more explanatory content.
This is counterintuitive. Because the estimated weight of the owner of the left one is about ten tons, while the estimated weight of the owner of the right skull is about eight tons. In other words, the African elephant is larger than the Asian elephant, but its skull is smaller
They are printed to scale based on the largest African elephant skull and the largest Asian elephant skull.
Interestingly, despite having a wider snout and brow spacing, the African elephant's skull appears to be actually smaller than that of the Asian elephant.
Don't ask me how much I love elephants.^v^
This represents my deepest love and research of proboscideans during my time in college.Especially, my research on African and Asian elephants has yielded some very interesting conclusions, which I will share with you in the future.
@jochemjojo Yes, yes, very intuitive comparison! You can see that they are very tiny even compared to modern elephants. Very cute little animals (despite being very heavy)
