A character facing away can be standoffish + impersonal, like they have something to hide. A character fully facing the camera is confrontational + personal, like they are looking directly at you. These are also done in theater and can be great tools when used sparingly!

What's the difference between frame by frame (FBF) and tweening animation?

Most modern digital animation utilizes tweening, and there are different types of tweening to try out as well! Classic/traditional tweens are used for videos/movies, motion tweens are great for video games, and both can be used for cleaning up FBF animation.
