Semi stocks rallying today but significantly underperforming software so far in Q3. @timseymour, @CourtneyDoming, @grassosteve and Julie Biel debate whether the action marks a short-term breather, or if a bigger pullback is in the cards.

Just a guy with 39 successful combat flight missions on his resume about to dig in with a guy who was a machine gunner at Omaha Beach on D-Day behind the plate. Two men.
At a loss for words on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Then I watched nearly 200 @FordhamNYC students, many born years later, climb 2,200 stadium steps in honor of the ascent FDNY firefighters undertook that day. They showed up. They remembered. I have hope for this generation.
Add to that 5, 10, 20 year breakevens aren’t showing runaway inflation
•5-year breakeven: 2.37%
•10-year breakeven: 2.35%
•20-year breakeven: ~2.48%
All sitting close to the Fed's 2% target, not spiking the way they would if markets expected inflation to get out of control.
@JustinPulitzer@grassosteve@federalreserve@ecb More importantly as @LynAldenContact always points out, Bank lending isn't elevated so raising rates won't have any effect on cooling inflation this time - and might make it worse by giving all the boomers with massive savings an extra 0.25% raise on their cash
@federalreserve@ecb
Rate hikes work on demand, borrowing, spending, investment.
They don't drill new wells, they don't unblock shipping lanes, they don't add a single barrel of oil to the market. The ECB just hiked for the second time this year on the same Middle East energy shock.
The Fed is contemplating the same mistake in September. Neither move touches what's actually causing the inflation.
And this isn't new. Central banks are always late every cycle. They begin to act after the markets have already adjusted .
The one thing they're genuinely good at is sitting on their hands. This might be the moment to actually do that.

20 years ago no one had a radar gun on the 3rd baseman and the shortstop…
It's the in-between players, the ones whose value is all feel and instinct and who dont reduce to a clean number, they are the ones analytics might genuinely be squeezing out now.
They only need 5% migration or 5% of the pro max buyer to make it a winning contributor.
And as you mentioned pro max is responsible for ~ 30% of rev. Big phone, big numbers, big potential.
BUT My name iPhold or iFold much better than iPhone duo … not even close.
The name alone is the biggest headwind for me … 😎
I went into today's $AAPL event thinking the foldable iPhone was going to be a rounding error for growth. After seeing the iPhone Duo, I’ve changed my mind.
