Munitions were loaded into them by crane, suggesting they were excavated below ground level. They are not bunded, unlike the camp's magazine, so this would seem to be the case.

@DanHillHistory Airship sheds. Both were originally built in 1917, shed 1 on the left at Cardington and Shed 2 on the right in Pulham St Mary and moved and enlarged around 1928 to Cardington to house R100. Shed 1 was enlarged just prior to Shed 2's arrival.
