I definitely think that COVID-19 will lead to rethinking the urban form, even after the wide-spread availability of vaccinations. I think one important result is that of modular structures that are able to be put up in a short amount of time.

@vtpinkos I definitely think that this kind of technology can give a very real sense of place. Such as when one is in a subway car there are underlying spatial, technological and social structures that are a result of the designed environment which gives that sense of place. Nice question

When automation infects all kind of vehicles, it can potentially improve urban infrastructure and economies. Urban livability would increase while sprawl decreases. Current transportation infrastructure costs would reduce. @FutureCities4 #futurecitiesVaTech

A post-pandemic Biophilic City looks like an urban area that is directly integrated with nature. City governments should allocate funding for this integration and provide continued support for social and cultural opportunities that revolve around these green, urban areas.

Singapore is a great example. The city has connected green areas through 'park connectors', which allow people to walk, bike, and jog between the city's green spaces without having to leave the natural environment. #futurecitiesVaTech #biophiliccities @FutureCities4

One ways that organizations, such as VT, waste energy is through the heating/cooling, and lighting of academic buildings. I personally believe that it's unnecessary for most buildings on campus to be utilized as such since there is minimal use. #futurecitiesVaTech @FutureCities4

@nwright_9 @FutureCities4 nick, great video. I'm not sure if you've taken it, but there is a great course within SSC taught by Theo Lim where we discussed the issue. One cause that we learned about was that in areas where there was a higher % of POC, there were far fewer parks % green space per capita.
