GM! I made this video to encourage the brothers and remind them (especially on a day like this) that we will have our home again. God smiled down on us this Summer. May we thank Him for His mercies 🙏🏻.
The Cosmere series is really good. Sanderson does a great job at world building and using creative magic systems.
But a some of his later books (specifically his latest) definitely a bit woke. There are two gay characters which kinda ruined it for me. And he mentions a trans character briefly.
Still worth the read imo
For the last 4 years, Neil Shenvi has denounced wokeness (as a concept) but has simultaneously absolved every major evangelical figure credibly accused of it.
Greear? He’s misunderstood!
The ERLC gang? Nope!
The TGC cabal? Slander!
Tim Keller? Hardly, you hater!
Cosper? Now you’re being ridiculous!
Platt? Absolutely not!
And now, as soon as Dan Crenshaw applied to term to anti-establishment dissidents on the right (and Eva’s atheist sidekick, James Lindsay began flinging it about), suddenly Shenvi has prepared a dossier on the woke-right’s central figures, has tracked their identities and whereabouts, and is naming names like the second-coming of Joseph McCarthy.
I explain why in the post below.
Andrew Willet (1562-1621) on “whether the people sinned in asking for a king” (1 Sam. 8):
“If they had simply desired a king to be given them according to the law of God, Duet. 17:15, that should govern them in equity & such an one as feared God, they then had not offended: but now they do ask a king of a preposterous desire, only that they might be like unto other nations.”
@Eric_Conn My father in law threatened me with a shotgun if I stepped out of line in answer to the first question and asked “what took you so long?” for the second.
