Fossil fuel companies like @TotalEnergies often tout development, yet decades of oil extraction in Global South countries have not lifted communities out of poverty. The reality is pollution, loss of livelihoods, environmental degradation, and climate change. #KickPollutersOut!
Uganda is the 14th most climate-vulnerable country (World Bank data). Yet its development plan underplays climate risks. IEEFA report suggests an alternative pathway: invest in climate-resilient industrialisation, agricultural value addition, and modern energy access. #StopEACOP!
In partnership with the XR Justice Movement Uganda, we engaged in a five day boot camp with youth & frontline activists from 9 African countries & Global North allies. We centered grassroots voices for collective learning & to develop joint climate actions.

The same way, the controversial #EACOP pipeline is forced on communities in UG & TZ with promises of economic growth. However, Angola shows the reality: oil profits benefit only a select few, while most face a rising cost of living. This is not development; it's exploitation.
Did you know that Angola is an oil producing country?
Haven't you heard talks from Ugandan elites captured by oil companies claim that we shall have oil prices reduced. In Angola, where oil is produced, we have 22 dead bse of high oil prices.
