@John58784@Nesquik1962@Gorillas_Org Why don't you mention this John?
"Dian Fossey was kidnapped, raped repeatedly and urinated upon before being locked in a cage with 18 dead men."

@wunderswift@iamjadebrieanne Jane Goodall protected and supported Fossey, fully aware of her actions. (Wrangham was Goodall's right-hand man)
Galdikas called them both "bosom buddies"
Goodall even lived with Fossey for a week in her Cornell apartment in 1981 ("Seldom have I been so nurtured").
@elorapha@MrK00001@Dr_TheHistories "Dian had at least one mortal enemy, the poacher Munyarukiko. Munyarukiko was a real killer, and he hated Dian. She had broken into his house and destroyed his possessions and kidnapped his boy(who was well treated, and told Dian a lot about the poaching)" https://t.co/2GK6ClmPRg
@rossmarus He became totally obsessed with Fossey (he sent her love letters every week) and even wanted to marry her (he gave her a ruby ring, which even appears in the movie "Gorillas in the Mist"). His last plan before his death was to visit Fossey in Karisoke.
@SaveOurSparrows@GorillaDoctors Why don't you ask Prof. Alexander Harcourt? (Dian Fossey's best student and later her arch-rival)

Gorilla Tourism was his idea to save the mountain gorilla. The famous "Mountain Gorilla Project" emerged from this idea.
Sometimes, you've gotta shift your perspective. 🤔 😉

Gorillas enjoy interacting with biodiversity that live near and around them. 🦋 🐛 🐜 🌿
In this video, watch Ubukombe try to make friends with a moth she found. 💛 We aren't sure how the moth feels about it, though! 😬

This little infant is already moving all over the place! 💛
Tegereza's infant is only a few months old, yet already exploring. Tegereza only has the patience for a little bit of climbing. Relatable, parents?

Nest-building skills are vitally important for gorillas, who learn how to build them as infants! 🍃 🌱
Watch Ubusugire build a nest in this video while his mother, Gwira, watches from nearby.

Lazy days are okay. 😴 💤
In this video, watch 5-year-old Umukuru rest her head on a branch on a chill day. This gorilla lives in the Pablo group. 🦍

Gorillas in the mist! Dr. Gaspard was recently checking on Pablo group in Volcanoes NP, Rwanda. He found the group high up the mountain, reaching an elevation of 3475 meters (11,400 ft)! That's quite a work commute...😂🦍 #gorilladoctors#savingaspecies#ourpatientsarewild
Where do gorillas sleep? 🤔 In nests!
Gorillas build two different nests as they travel - one for daytime use and one for nighttime use. Here we can see Ubwuzu making his nest out of bamboo branches. How cool is that?!
