“Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that, losing a spouse is.. certainly difficult”
[he took a second to gather his composure again]
“Kathrine, eh? I believe my son is a friend of hers! While he doesn’t speak to me much he still occasionally talks about his friends”
“That’s sweet. Honestly, I don’t think I could ever do it… I’m too much of a stickler for steak.”
[ He tenses slightly, but nods. ]
“He was a good man… We have a daughter, Katherine, but he was never able to meet her.”
[ A half lie, half truth. His husband, the man he-
“Yes! She was big on the whole eating good thing and even tried to get me to try out being a vegetarian but I never got around to it”
[he closed the menu and slid it across the table]
“So.. you mentioned having a husband? What was he like?”
[ John listened intently, a small smile creeping across his face. He liked listening to the man talk. ]
“Hm? Oh, I don’t mind. I’m not much of a talker anyways.”
[ He nodded, tilting his head slightly. ]
“Was she a vegetarian?”
“How cute! And yes, that was his name. He was the best pet a boy could’ve asked for, even if he was just a bug. I believe bugs make the best pets”
[he was rambling a little bit about his love for insects before realizing he might be over-sharing a little]
[ John was mildly put off by Ken’s smile, but he ignored it. The guy was rather kind! ]
“I haven’t been here in a while… I’m glad I get to come back.”
[ He flips through the menu, taking note of Ken’s mild social ineptitude. It was mildly enduring. ]

[he had a wide, almost eerie grin on his face]
“Well yeah, everyone in hatchetfield had heard of this place so it must be good! Even though we aren’t a big town so it’d be more impressive if no one knew about it..”
[he picks up a menu frantically. He’s remembering-
[ John smiled, feeling a small sense of relief when Ken showed up. He shook his hand, his grip a little firm. ]
“I’m glad you showed up! Not that I thought you wouldn’t- You know what I mean.”
[ He gave a soft, slightly embarrassed laugh. ]
“This place is nice, isn’t it?”
[he walked into retros, fidgeting with his hands, nervous as he hadn’t been out with friends in a very long time- let alone at a place such as Retros. He quickly spotted John and rushed over to his booth.]
“Howdy hey! Gosh, this place brings back some memories-

[ John wasn’t sure if this could be considered a date or not. He didn’t want things to be misunderstood, so he preferred to just call it a meeting between friends. He sat down at a booth, patiently waiting for Ken. He fumbled his hands together, unsure of why-
My son seems a bit down in the dumps, does anyone know if animal therapy is any good and should I get him a pet? I’m truly trying my best but I need a little help.
@TH3_GENERAL I’m sure you loved him very much as he looks very well taken care of!! I’ve always liked the thought of getting a bird but I don’t have the time to take care of it as I’m always working.
