@CovfefeAnon@RokoMijic I hate to break it to you but as a Canadian we regularly get MUCH colder than 0 Fahrenheit. So that doesn't work as a practical minimum for most of my country.
@creation247 Furthermore, the monarchy had shifted the debt that the monarchy created onto the impoverished citizens. The monarchy spent money poorly and caused suffering to the poorest. On top of that there was famine across France at the time which also fueled that desperation.
@creation247 Now to speak on the french revolution, the ideas of the enlightenment were a small fraction of the incitement for it. The much larger things that fueled the revolution was that systemic inequality cause 98% of people to have to struggle more than the 2% of the lucky. (1/2)
@glimmande@SaltyCracker9 I get surprised too as a Canadian, here student loans don't have an interest rate on student loans federally and most of our provincial student loans also don't have interest applied
@TheRPGDummy Now I'm not a big music or movie guy but I like my books in physical form. Much better reading experience especially because some novels use the medium of a book very effectively and it can get diminished in digital formats
@Fat_Electrician As a Canadian, I can say is prefer Celsius because I was raised in it and it makes more sense to me intuitively. I also don't like how granular Fahrenheit is.
@chudofus I would argue that GTA love is overblown, it isn't that good nor would I call any game from them a classic. That might just be personal opinion though, I would caution against getting sold on something before gameplay. Fromsoft generally makes good games but I would've hated AC6.
@CastizoFren@Sneedsfeedweeds@hellspatisserie I would argue that the argument of "You shouldn't do x because it will bar you from heaven" isn't materialistic but it is still a fucked up worldview. If punishment is the only thing stopping you from doing something bad, then you are a bad person.
@CastizoFren@yezersoriano@hellspatisserie From a religious viewpoint the argument could be made that alcohol should be banned as it opens the spirit up to corruption.
@idonotexistelol I guess I'd hit back with why are you not weary of a studio that is asking for $100 before they have revealed anything of substance about their game. I don't like rockstar games, never really have so I don't know why people die hard them so much
@sameolbusdriver My honest take? It wasn't justified in any of these cases. The price tag on these games is ridiculous. Some are even worse that GTA6, however that doesn't mean that the pricing of GTA6 is good. Just less bad.
@jpacuna89@ma1ybe We only have Kevlar thanks to women, computer compilers are thanks to women, the on-board flight software made for apollo 11 was made by a woman, hell widespread antibiotic production is thanks to women.
@kickfliptomboys Something doesn't need to be tangible to give reward. For the sake of example, knowledge is intangible but learning new things isn't a wasted effort.
@Scotthk92 @MrkelsGame I would argue there are many people who play GoW and other games like it for the stories they tell and how the characters develop through their journeys.
