You realize soccer is the 5th-6th most popular sport in the States? It is lucky for the rest of the world our best athletes play football, baseball, basketball, etc. Could you imagine if soccer was the States #1 sport? Imagine LeBron at goalie, Tyreek Hill at center forward, etc! We would absolutely dominate.
@MoMohler In my 52 years alive in America, I have eaten all the above mentioned cuisines, and many more. I will seek out cuisines that I havenโt tried. Love food!
Never once have I heard of a British restaurant, or British cuisine for that matter. ๐คฃ
The tipping culture in the USA is what produces a superior customer service experience compared to almost any other place in the world. Iโve been to a ton of foreign countries, and while the food can be better in some places, 100% of the time the customer service is way better in the USA. Honestly itโs not even close. In Europe, they take your order and you are lucky if you see the waiter again. Be ready to wait forever for the checkโฆ.
Take my state, North Carolina, it is not one of the bigger American states by any stretch of the imagination. But it is still bigger than 19 European sovereign countries in land mass size and has a higher population than 30 European countries.
Hence, the Passport % ownership is a bad metric to use
I will give you that the food is definitely better in most places in Europe, particularly parts of Europe that touch the Mediterranean! Just got back yesterday and itโs still true!
But to equate the percentage of people that have passports in the U.S. to Europe is a misdirection. Of course they have a much higher percentages, but only because each European โStateโ has its own individual one. Those 90% that have them are, overwhelmingly, doing their travels in block of nations comprising Europe. If you needed a passport in each U.S. state, then our percentage would be in the 90s as well.
If the average U.S. state were an independent country in Europe, it would rank among the larger European nations by land area, exceeding the size of a majority of European countries. You must keep things in perspective.
@SkylarSkye3 Overall, if the average U.S. state were an independent country in Europe, it would rank among the larger European nations by land area, exceeding the size of a majority of European countries.
Persians and Islamists are not the same thing. โPersianโ refers primarily to an ethnic, linguistic, and cultural identity rooted in Iranโs long pre-Islamic and Islamic history, including the Persian language, literature, art, poetry, and national heritage. โIslamist,โ by contrast, refers to a political ideology that seeks to organize government and society around a particular interpretation of Islam.
These categories overlap in some cases, but they are not identical. A Persian person may be Muslim, secular, atheist, Christian, Jewish, Zoroastrian, or something else entirely. Likewise, an Islamist can be Persian, Arab, Turkish, Pakistani, African, European, or from many other backgrounds. Islamism is not an ethnicity; Persian identity is not a political program.
Confusing the two erases the diversity of Persian people and wrongly treats an ancient culture as if it were the same as a modern political movement. Persian civilization existed long before Islamism and has produced many secular, religious, nationalist, artistic, and intellectual traditions. Therefore, it is more accurate to say that Persians are a people and culture, while Islamism is an ideology. They should not be treated as interchangeable.
@Ikdoehetniet@DanFriedman81 Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Cyprus & Serbia. The highways in these countries are fine, but the roads in the cities are a disaster
You are completely wrong. Only 36 states require an โIDโ to vote. 14 states plus Washington, D.C., do not require documentation to vote at the polls. And in some of those 36 states that require an โIDโ, they accept NON-PHOTO documents such as a utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other document showing your name and address. Anyone can cheat the system if you all you have to do is show a damn utility bill!
I am 52 years old and vote in all elections and I have NEVER been asked for ANY type of identificationโฆEVER!
Today, the top 10 companies in the SP500 make up 40% of the index. The 10 companies in this pic made up 44% of the SP500 in 1963, a higher concentration than we have today. Only two of these companies are still as big and relevant today, IBM & GE. The other 8 are not nearly as important as they used to be.
None of those companies from the 60s are in todayโs top 15โฆ.
American Telephone eventually became AT&T, now ranked #64
General Motors is #124
Standard Oil New Jersey became Exxon, now #16
IBM is #46
DuPont is #393
Texaco, Gulf Oil and Standard Oil California are all now part of Chevron who is #26
General Electric is #36
Sears went bankrupt

The evidence showed that Rittenhouse was chased, attacked, or confronted before each shooting, including one person who lunged for his rifle, another who struck him with a skateboard, and another who approached with a handgun.
@NtsikeleloNM@Na01bgh@Aqwall1_ โNot an attack on his life?โ Are you joking? The robber had a machete, which is a threat to life. He should have used his gun and shot them both, without hesitation!
