Students had the chance to explore a wide range of career paths at our Career Fair, meeting professionals in fields including engineering, healthcare, construction, human resources, event planning, marketing, and the military.
By asking questions and hearing firsthand about different jobs, students gained valuable insight into the many opportunities available after high school. Thank you to all of the professionals who shared their experiences and inspired our students to think about what comes next!
Happy Pride Month! 🌈 This colorful display in our cafeteria, created by the Green Chimneys Student Council, celebrates the many identities and experiences that make our community stronger. Together, we can continue building a more inclusive world rooted in kindness and respect.
Boni-Bel Farm received a very exciting delivery! Green Chimneys was awarded a Bee Grant from @WholeFoodsFnd and The Bee Cause Project 🐝 This grant includes a custom observation hive which will allow our teachers to expand the integration of bees into our animal and horticulture programs. As the new bee colony was delivered, they engaged in a fascinating swarming behavior, before they were coaxed into their new hive. We can't wait to share updates as the bees settle in and students engage with this wonderful opportunity to learn more about these essential pollinators.
You can buy honey products from local bees as well as beeswax candles created by Green Chimneys students by visiting the Country Store and Farm Stand. Learn more at: https://t.co/jNDTOplFua

Nate arrived at Green Chimneys as an introverted 5th grader who struggled to participate in school and connect with others. This month, he’s graduating high school, serving as a Student Council Representative, working campus jobs, and heading to the Culinary Institute of America this fall.
What changed? A learning environment that helped him feel supported and confident enough to discover his strengths. Nate found the tools to build a future he’s excited about through his activities in nature, with animals, and even his culinary education. Read Nate’s inspiring story: https://t.co/22EAwVrVgM
“If I had to pick three words to describe myself my first day at Green Chimneys, the words would be angry, irritable, and destructive. But if I were to pick three now, they would be witty, dependable, and resourceful.” These powerful words from Green Chimneys alum Smith were at the heart of our Annual Spring Gala on May 14.
The evening celebrated the growth, resilience, and possibilities that emerge when students are supported with care, connection, and opportunity. Together, our community raised nearly $200,000 to help continue these life-changing programs for the young people we serve: https://t.co/TAaNjVl7im

Once a week, Porter the campus dog makes a special visit to the Occupational Therapy room. His quiet presence can spark engagement and encourage participation. It also helps students practice emotional regulation in real time. When students stay focused and regulated, Porter is more likely to spend time with them.
While Porter and the other visiting dogs add a meaningful layer of motivation, they’re just one part of the process. The heart of the work happens through skilled Green Chimneys Occupational Therapy staff who help students build the tools they need to succeed.

After two months of patient work, maple sugaring season has delivered a sweet reward. Last month, days were spent collecting sap from the Sugar Maples and staff worked hours in the Sugar Shack, carefully boiling it in the evaporator until it became syrup. On this beautiful sunny day, students got to enjoy the results with pancakes and fresh maple syrup, a treat made even more special by the hands-on process behind it.

Sheep Shearing Day is a cherished spring tradition at Green Chimneys and with temperatures reaching the high 80s this week, it was an essential one for the wellbeing of our sheep. Our littlest learners from Nature’s Nursery were fascinated by the process and amazed at how small the sheep looked afterwards. They experienced the tactile feel of the soft wool and exclaimed afterwards about the lanolin (also known as wool fat) residue left on their hands afterwards.
You can see the freshly shorn sheep yourself, with a weekend visit to the farm: https://t.co/HSYp6MUim9
