@FIDE_chess There's no need for a dress code in chess. Let players wear whatever they feel comfortable to play chess in.
Dress codes make chess look un-inclusive & elitist.
@Lona_Chess@DavidHowellGM@thelittlehat@chessdojo@chess24com@ChessbaseIndia They are great commentators.
In Australia the games are starting 7:30pm so I've been able to watch quite a bit. Good company while I do the dishes.
For the longer games I've had David & Jovanka playing on my bedside table. My non chess playing wife has been enjoying it too.
@ChessVonDoom I'm a very late resigner. I was recently winning OTB & my opponent didn't resign (which I was fine with as I was happy to play it out).
I thought to myself, how do my opponents usually finish me off & I played that same way to win. You learn from how people beat you.
@ChessVonDoom It's never ok to tell your opponent to resign. It's up to your opponent to prove they can win & anyone can make mistakes or fall into a stalemate.
@ryanwhite19750 @ChessVonDoom People overestimate the amount of cheating going on.
Why cheat in a classical game, when you can cheat in multiple rapid or blitz games, & gain rating faster. Classical takes too long.
Plus you can play in organised events where people are hopefully more honest.
@ChessArbitress@Lona_Chess As a fellow Arbiter I'd like to hear from an arbiter. π Not specifically for the world cup, but just in general.
An arbiter would be a great guest for @Lona_Chess or @DoctorScull podcasts
@librarianlawson Sorry for your loss & your bad experience Dawn.
Congratulations on playing the OTB chess tournament & putting yourself out there. As a fellow low rated player, I know what it's like to lose a lot.
Enjoy playing chess, you'll get those wins π
@ChessVonDoom I could never believe that you could be capable of playing too fast Omar π
I have the opposite OTB. I just got home from losing another OTB 60+30 game on time after 40 moves π
My opponent was also down to 2 minutes & it was a close Q+N+pawns endgame.
Pakistan is in Australia. India is set to tour Australia. If this was olden days of VB Series/CB Series, we would've had a triangular ODI series between Australia, India, and Pakistan. π₯²
