Official Twitter of South Sound Greens, a science-based, queer-led, anticolonial ecosocialist party on occupied Squaxin, Nisqually, Puyallup & Chehalis lands.
The Green Party supports an anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist model of grassroots democracy. We stand for resilience through community action, the liberation of all people with ecological living at our core.
People always try to smear us and silence us. We're still kicking.
We're leaving this up for now while we find our people elsewhere, but the payoff of moderate visibility is no longer worth the cost of engaging with a fascist platform.
We're south-sound-greens dot bsky dot social for our comrades seeking bluer skies.
@meakoopa There really is something about comics and queerness that prepares us for the world to always be ending, and never letting Apocalypse keep us down.
@lily_lxndr's breakout video on metastability and queerness seems appropriate to the moment.

People need to realize that we can’t vote our way out of fascism.
Showing up to a booth and pressing a button every 2 years can’t be the extent of our involvement.
Organize online and off. Listen to marginalized communities. Don’t obey in advance. Don’t capitulate to fascists.
Join me next Wednesday, January 29th for Part 2 of this discussion about the Shifting Winds of Change in West Africa. Don't miss it. Register today. #AfricaOnTheMove#ClimateJustice https://t.co/lhsq1GAQpf
Watch this and share this. The genocide in West Papua must see light and the countries and companies enabling this must be held to account. End this genocide now! #WestPapua#westpapuan#indonesia#thales#defense#genocide https://t.co/sBEbIF5EHq
"We urgently need a party of, by, and for working people, one that is directly linked and accountable to our unions and movements on the ground, that democratically decides what candidates to run and on what platform, and which doesn’t take a cent of corporate money."
While Biden and then Harris tacked to the right and abandoned support for wildly popular policies like Medicare for All and a $15 minimum wage, Trump won by making overtures to working people through promises to end taxes on tips & overtime pay and to stop the wars. He promised to avert World War III & put forward slogans aimed at the Arab American community & antiwar voters like “Vote Trump, Vote Peace”, promoting the idea he'd end the genocide in Gaza.
Read our article by Workers Strike Back member @maybemargot1 on why we can have no illusions in either Trump or the Democrats & must organize independently of BOTH the bankrupt capitalist parties. We need a new party of, by, and for working people that bases itself on mass movements & is directly accountable to them.
We’re down to the last two days of the Biden regime. There is still no word on Leonard Peltier. Not freeing this Indigenous elder and political prisoner is effectively a death sentence.
Israel killed more journalists in a year than any other regime has in totality since records began. More than 140 media workers were martyred for refusing to abandon their responsibility.
This ceasefire is here because of their tenacity and bravery. We should know their names.
Crying watching Palestinian journalists heralded by their people today after news of the ceasefire — literally on their shoulders, like Hossam Shabat belowm
They were relentless in telling the world what was happening in Gaza. They lost too many colleagues. All respect forever
this should be the nail in the coffin for the "U.S has lost control of its rogue state Israel" argument and confirms that the US in fact supported the genocide financially, logistically and ideologically and it would not have been possible without this support
"Even after they ravaged the continent, settlers described the Mississippi region as covered in fruit & nut trees, and treated them as orchards.
The persimmon was not only significant for human survival but has been crucial in supporting native habitats"

This is why I represent eco activists and protesters. They’re the only ones genuinely trying to save us and states are trying to crush them for it while the CEOs whose greed is killing us are continuously rewarded by the system.
"We can win.
We can prevail. we won't stop global warming, but we can work collectively for survival of our species.
Make all your decisions on behalf of the 7th generation coming. Not your nation, not you, not your family, but for all generations coming.
Speak on their behalf."

Our good friend Chief Oren Lyons, who is also a friend of James Hansen, has lots to say on “what we have done.”
He is 95 years old and still going strong keeping the home fires burning. I send some of your talks to him.
Now, we must cultivate the seeds of a society around us that can grow over the ruins as this one crumbles and burns away.
Those seeds include egalitarianism, mutual aid, solidarity, democracy, diversity, and a holistic, compassionate, planetary, science-centered political vision.
"It’s not a new normal.
It’s a staircase to a hotter, more hellish Earth.
A lot of climate impact predictions erred on the side of least drama. It’s hard for even scientists to wrap our heads around how everything is changing right now on planet Earth."
