I believe people should treat each other with respect ๐ซ
@Kittenlm43@MMacy153@CaroleF83262070 + If they believe a lie, you have to show them or tell them the truth. In my opinion, ignoring them or insulting them wonโt helpโitโll just reinforce their views. I guess I really am a stupid idealist ๐ช
@Kittenlm43@MMacy153@CaroleF83262070 I guess Iโm just naive. I simply think people should talk to one another. A lot of people are capable of changing their worldviews and opinions when you talk to them. If you just leave them in their social bubble, nothing will change. +
@MMacy153@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 Iโm not saying that at all. I was just pointing out that people may have their reasons. Thatโs just an example that was on the news. But if people refuse to talk to one another or discuss problems, it will end badly. Ignoring problems in society doesnโt make them go away. +
@MMacy153@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 + That just shows me that thereโs a large segment of the population that must have had reasons other than just immigration.
@MMacy153@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 But the opposition is in power in the UK, isnโt it? If the people who voted for Brexit were automatically supporters of those parties, then they should be in power. Those people would have voted for them. +
@faithfullrry@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 I really don't understand why all of this has anything to do with the EU. It's the UK Parliament and the political parties that people elect that should be handling thisโnot basing everything on the idea that the UK is finished once it leaves the EU.
@faithfullrry@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 Sorry, but I'm not going to badmouth the British people who made that decision. I may not like it, but I treat people with respect.
@faithfullrry@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 + Every person matters, and everyone should have the freedom to make their own decisions without being immediately judged by others who know nothing about them.
@faithfullrry@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 I was just pointing out that people may have their own reasons for making certain decisions. I donโt support Brexit, but I refuse to claim that anyone who does is automatically a racist. +
@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 +Am I supposed to just say that I donโt care about their reasons and condemn them? You have your reasons, and the people who live there may have different ones.
@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 + When a Brit tells me he voted to leave because, say, some EU regulation ruined his business and, by extension, his family. Or a girl says she was raped by some migrants, and thatโs why she doesnโt want more of them there. +
@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 Iโm neither for nor against it; I donโt live in the UK, but in the EU. You should be venting your frustration at the politicians who decided to let the people vote on this, since the outcome might not go your way. But not at the people themselves.
@CaroleF83262070@Kittenlm43 No, I don't do that. I judge people based on who they are and how they treat others, not on their political views. If two people sit down and discuss 100 different issues, they certainly won't agree on everything. So should they condemn each other just because they disagree?
