@chaser1790@Tarasworld21 There were real concerns about Biden’s age and ability to handle the demands of the presidency. It’s remarkable that this age bracket keeps getting elected.
@nationalpost “Wake me up” is a pretty immature attitude for a leader of the opposition. @PierrePoilievre, your job isn’t to sleep through the work until something gets built. It’s to stay engaged, scrutinize the government and offer Canadians a serious alternative.
@atrupar Trump appears to be conflating oil reserves with global fuel supply and inflating Venezuela’s share from roughly 17% of proven reserves to 58% of fuel. Those are not remotely the same thing.
@prairiecentrist I agree Poilievre hasn’t been an effective leader, but I wouldn’t call him a “loser”. I’d like to see a Conservative leader that would move the party back toward the centre, away from MAGA style stunt politics. A strong respected opposition is important.
@jkenney I disagree with David Eby’s decision to call an election, but I wouldn’t question whether he’s on Team Canada. On the trade war, he’s been clear about standing up for Canada, and I support that.
@atrupar Trump’s tariffs are pushing manufacturers’ costs higher. The ISM price index jumped to 77.9 in September, its highest level in months. Tariffs don’t make things cheaper.
@sarobertson_ That petition was for a vote on staying in Canada, not the referendum Smith created. Using it to justify her referendum is a pretty creative interpretation of what Albertans actually signed.
@atrupar Short-term temperature fluctuation and seasonal ice changes do not mean global warming has reversed. Decades of rising temperatures and melting ice aren’t erased by a short-term blip.
@ABDanielleSmith@avilewis Nice try. Lewis is not Nenshi's boss, and you know it. Not sure why you'd bother with this post. Your base is the only group who'd buy it, and you presumably still have them.
@rshereme The data doesn’t support Trump’s claim. Russian refinery disruptions cut roughly 350,000 barrels/day of diesel supply, versus about 770,000 barrels/day lost from the Middle East due to the Iran war. Ukraine is a factor, but the Iran war is the larger supply shock.
@spectatorindex Eventually, taxpayers pay through higher taxes, reduced government services, or higher inflation. An expensive war financed by debt only leaves taxpayers with a bigger bill.
@atrupar Jesus calls loving God and loving your neighbour as yourself the two greatest commandments. (Matthew 22:37–40) They say America is a Christian nation.
@BrianKarem@acoyne “Do not mistreat” the foreigner and treat them as you would your own people. (Leviticus 19:33–34). I am told America is a Christian nation.
