@HMRCcustomers I have tried to register for self assessment online but received an automated message saying I couldn’t because I already had a live assessment. The last assessment I submitted was about 20 years ago. I’m worried about 5th October deadline. Does it apply to me?

@HMRCcustomers With all due respect Ross, that isn’t really an answer to the question. What determines whether or not the UTR ‘may’ be revealed over the phone? There isn’t now time for it to be received by post and the last time this was promised it never materialised.

@HMRCcustomers Some weeks ago I requested my UTR by telephone but this was never sent. I don’t have a record of this anywhere else. Instead I received the forms to complete a self assessment but without a UTR these are no help. How do I get my UTR sent?
