@Olking07 old people (the bosses) feel young people need to “pay dues” like they did. justify all their office expenses. political pressure for daytime workers (lunch, restaurants, etc). AND a subset of people legit don’t work hard when they’re remote
@PunchyMoney if you have kids you kind of need to own + that stability. can’t be subject to annual rent increases and then packing them up to move every year (maybe changing schools etc). otherwise, I’d agree
@the_transit_guy THE biggest issue is once you get to Madrid or Valencia you can generally make it work without a car. not true in Ft Collins, Colo Springs, Bakersfield.. all these small cities they’re dumping money to try to put rail to
@Jaaziel_MP@BarbellFi the ship has sailed on this but it is government intervention (Fannie and Freddie buying the mortgages from banks). which causes artificial inflation of prices. intention might have been good but as with everything govt getting involved screws things up
@BarbellFi kind of agree, BUT the available debt causes Other people to way over pay thereby making the homes so so much more expensive than they’re inherently worth. so paying cash is super difficult. when you have kids you need a house. otherwise i’d agree - don’t bother
@TheDamaniFelder their beauty helped them initially flourish and when money started flowing the libs and dems had to step in and start siphoning and controlling it (and ruining it). non beautiful places (Dallas) have no choice but to be biz friendly or no one would go there
@AlpacaAurelius average life span wasn’t long enough for skin cancer to manifest? it’s the only somewhat interesting argument I’ve heard. also how you do reconcile people who’ve actually died of skin cancer (Jimmy Buffet)?
